Has anyone confirmed that he's actually going to play on HSP? The only news I've seen is that he was invited.

I mean, what kind of sick attitude is this? Like hungering for some teenage virgin to be DP'd by a couple of monster-tooled pimps.

You say that like that's a bad thing.

Don't understand.

How many ppl here would not play on HSP with $100,000 if they won over 4mil in tourneys and still has a regular Job and lives a normal life?

Personally if I had the income plus my previous tourney wins like DP has I would play just for fun and for the experience of playing a cash game with those players. If I lose my Buy in oh well I still have over a Mil left to my name and had a great experience that only a small percentage of poker enthusiasts can say they have had.

I'm sure if he is a smart person (which he seems) he has invested most or a very nice chunk of his winnings and is clearing a good percentage a year on interest.

Sometimes poker is just about having Fun. I'm sure is he looses his whole buy in he can just play some of the Donk's on here bashing him and make it back.

According to this he sounds like an amature but not really a donkey like most here like to think to make themselves feel better.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_...oker_player%29

I bet he will have a deep run in next years ME as well.

This might be because any hands you've seen DP play were while he was playing in a tournament. If you've never seen him play in a cash game, how would you know his cash game style? I've played with DP a few times in St. Louis and know that he more than holds his own. Not equating the talent of St. Louis 5/10 NL players with high stakes pros, but it's silly to bash his cash game skills based based off his (successful) tournament style.

It's obviously because he didn't start online so that is why he is a Donkey and can't play cash games.

if you agree to say something silly on TV for the 2+2 poker community, you might have a chance

You type this as if this is fact, while you basically just made it up... He might be in the top ten, I will admit, but is probably still 10,000 entrants behind Joe Hachem. There are more than a few others who have had multiple deep runs too.

That being said, I'm not sure why everyone thinks Dennis won't stand a chance because he plays a tournament style... in tournaments... I'd be interested to see how he could do. Not saying he would come out a winner, but he's got to have a better chance than Phil Laak, amirite?

I've also met Dennis, and he genuinely seems to be as nice as he seems on tv. Not phony, and in absolutely no way egotistical as one poster keeps trying to say. Dennis hasn't even agreed to do this yet ffs... Anyways, if he chose to do this I'm sure it would be for all the right reasons. Not for the fame, but more for the once in a lifetime experience.

I worked with Dennis Phillips over the summer and apparently it is a fact. He has defeated approximately 13,000 players over the past two WSOP main events and no player has defeated more. I know that sounds odd - it did to me when he told me, but then we went over it and sure enough, he's the man.

So, yes, I type this as if it were fact because it is.

My vote for female presence on HSP is

Kara Scott (woo hoo !!!)

Now if ESPN would hire Nick Welfold to replace Norman Chad I would be a happy man....

uhm.. according to pokerlistings Hachem came in 1st in 2005, 238th in 2006 and 103rd in 2009.

There were 8773 players in 2006 so there he beat 8534 people
There were 6494 players in 2009 so there he beat 6390 people
There were over 5600 players in 2005 so it's safe to say he beat at least 5600 players there

5600 + 8534 + 6390 = 20524

"HEY I DUN RECKON I DUN BEAT DE MOST, I DUN BEAT 13000 PEOPLE, AIN'T NOBODY DUN DAT NOHOW I DON'T RECKON" doesn't constitute "going over it" and it's obviously not a fact

If you have your average HSP table, I make DP exactly even money to be plus at the end. He won't get adventurous and will take a stand if he has to. I'd take 11-10 all day.

And it's a completely meaningless fact.

Yes, Dennis Phillips, you got third last year and you got far this year, YOU ARE THE GREATEST TOURNAMENT PLAYER EVER!!!!!!!!

Never mind players who have actually won bracelets and more importantly, have won multiple bracelets in the WSOP. Yes, Dennis Phillips has beaten more people than Hellmuth, Ivey, Seidel, etc. etc

GTFO with this BS.

I know it's a meaningless stat....

I just bring it up because he's a great guy and VERY good for the image of poker. I hope he does well on HS if he decides to play.

As for Hachem - I will admit, I didn't double-check his claims, so it looks as if I'm mistaken....

If Dennis Phillips challenged Ivey HU for Rollz, Ivey would snap-call the show if only to prove the immortal question of who is the best player ever, Dennis Phillips or Phillip Ivey.

Both have Phillip in their name, CAN'T be a coincidence!!!!
