closed thread- i know i'm onto something now.

jjshabado,

1) i can press a key as fast as any preflop action can go- there is no way i slow the game down.

2) you are right- sample size does not come fast but this strategy is not single session targetted.

3) i won't get caught- really how could i- the sounds can only be heard by me, the calculator is totally out of view- i just appear to be resting 1 hand on my leg.everyone focuses on the felt- not on the location of 1 of my hands and that is all anyone has to go by. it won't "sour" the game and if a "pro" targetted me (in a small stakes game ?) i'm experienced enuf to avoid him without a calculator (after i pay him off).

Youngunpoker,

i go to the trouble (it's more like a hobby) to get an edge. everyone has the same capability with PT on the net. that is why games at compareable stakes are much harder to beat on line than live.

PT has all to do with why online games are tuffer (Jaconda78- scuz me - thats "tougher").
online you have software indicating where your game is weak- so you change it (improve). you also are shown your opponants stats without any mental effort on your part- you are shown who the fish are. in a live game you don't get your own stats so you are much less likely to plug huge leaks. intermadiate players see someone bet a lot and think "well the book tells me what to do against this type of player- but is this guy one of them ? surely you must see PT like stats are a powerful tool. then how could it not be to your advantage if your opponants did not have that edge and you did ?

JasonInDallas,

i did start a thread on the same topic a while back but that was questioning the ethical aspects. i DID have a tuff time resolving that. it was a coin flip whether i was going to pursue it for real. i asked the "poker authority" himself and, while not impressing him in the least, the ethical determination was easy- no, i'm not cheating.

i posted, as we all do, to learn something. responses confirm 2 things i suspected or knew- that i need large samples for this to work and that no matter what most players will view this in a very negative way.

in looking for responses that mite help me there may be some out there that can see the obvious- IF
a device produced PT feedback without much hassle and IF you could get enuf sample and IF you knew what to do with that data then of course you could get an edge with it in a live game.

for anyone who may care there are no "IFs".

In before permaban.

OP should use an abacus to compute stats at the table, and write the stats on his opponents' foreheads with a sharpie.

You'd think the fact that the last thread was closed would be a hint, but no...
