We all know picking the right games is an important part of getting the best of it. How often do you ask for a table change?

(I wanted this to be a poll but I am not sure how to create it here on 2+2)

Seeing as my local casino only ever has 1 cash game running i very rarely ask for a table change

when have more than 300bb and rest of the table has ~100bb, then i move to a table with the biggest stacks.

How many times would you say this occurs. Once a session, once every couple of sessions?

I don't change enough, but I will ask for a change if the table is full of nits and I can't identify any real donators...

I'll change as soon as the game is not in my favor.

i hardly play live, but last 3 times i played i cashed out with $1.8K, $2.4K, 1.1K all at 1/2NL. when i do play live, i play marathon sessions where i play for like 20hrs straight. keep in mind that i play like crap after the ~15th hour.

That's about right. I'll also move to a different limit, up or down (my room deals 2-2, 2-5, and 5-10NLHE) based on which table looks the best, is having the most fun, or has the most cash on it.

If the ability of the players possessing those stacks doesn't enter into your consideration, then you're going about NLHE all wrong.

I'll ask for a table change any time I think the change in my EV would be enough to make it worthwhile. A NLHE or LHE game where no one's cold-calling my raises creates a strong presumption that I can find a better game.

Unfortunately poker isn't booming in Tunica, so often there's like one LHE and one NLHE game going at each room on a weekday afternoon. Playing both games (plus O8) comes in handy, as does having the two best poker rooms next door to each other.

Also sometimes, if a crappy game goes 6-handed and a juicy game is full, it's impossible to get a transfer because the crappy game needs players. I'll wait a while for new players to show up, but if it gets bad enough I'll rack up and go next door, or change from NLHE to LHE just to get out of the crappy game.

i'm pretty splashy and my style works really well against other splashy people - especially those that over-value their hands...as soon as those people bust, i'll start to look for a table change. even if i think i can beat a few super-tight people, it's not worth it to sit around and steal blinds or small pots for me...i want to be at a table where people are going all in a lot.

just figure out what game you are looking for (can be a few different kinds), and as soon as your game stops being that, get up and switch.

Great! Then you must either be the very best NLHE player in your player pool or you're just keeping his money warm for a while.

I play mostly LHE but if my table is filled with 7 or more people I know as regs and the other tables have more unknown players I'll ask.

As démodé as it is to quote...you know...the movie...if you can't figure out who the sucker is, it's you. I don't feel like I'm a sucker in any game I'd be in generally, but sometimes I realize that at the very best I have no edge at all, and at worst, there are several players who are better than I am.

Time to move.

the game i normally play (5/5nl, $1500max) usually has at least 2 games running, and sometimes up to 4. they typically implement a must move format such that the main game is always full and the feeder games move players around in the order they sat down. sometimes there are multiple games that feed the main game, but most of the time it is a chain of movement (table 8 to table 7 to table 6).

i therefore don't get a lot of opportunities to request a table change. but i do when i can and see the need for it.

the must move format does tend to create some very deep stack situations that you normally wouldn't see at a 100BB cap game. it is routine for most of the table at the main game to have over 300 BBs, many times players are sitting with >$5000 (1000 BBs).
