This is great news for live poker players. Beginning today Caesars Ent. is officially giving tier points to all poker players in every room through the U.S.A. This is great news to live players as it will attract much more fish from the pits to the room as well as give the poker regs something extra.

Live players have been known to get screwed as far as comps go in live poker rooms for a long time and this I feel is some great news.

Next step is hopefully going to be WSOP.com Legal online poker where Caesars can award tier points to online players as well and everyone can enjoy free rooms, tournaments, food, etc..

Mods, if you feel this should be moved please do so, but I think this is pretty big news for the poker community.

Can someone who I'd a current platinum or diamond member please give us some info on the benefits. Like what is the freegift in April? The special birthday offer? Seethe winter and summerfest tournaments any decent? Any other perks?

I am not happy with this at all.....it sounds like they are once again reducing the number of tier credits for poker at the AC properties....something that they already did this summer. I am not sure I will be able to renew my Diamond card this year thanks to the new policy. And I will certainly not try to renew it next year, and instead move almost all of my play to Borgata.

And in any case, giving players tier points for poker doesn't make the games any juicier. The games at Harrah's AC have always been nittier than games at other properties, largely because you had a large contingent of older nits just playing to grind out a Diamond or 7-Star card. Back when Bally's offered 120 tier/hour at 2/5 once a week, people would start the game just to get the points, spend most of the time away from the table, and never play a single hand when they happened to be sitting.

The Diamond renewal "gift" in April is almost certainly the best part of being Diamond, at least in AC. It gives you about $500 worth of credits towards restaurants and stores that are actually very easy and flexible to use (as long as you use them within the 2-3 month time frame they are valid).

I don't ever remember getting a "birthday offer".

I already get tier points at CET places... What's new and different?
