I believe the perception that one must be 21 years old to gamble in the USA is not entirely true. I believe there are casinos in the USA where 18 year olds are permitted to gamble. I believe most are Indian casinos. I think some of these casinos have poker rooms. This all comes from memory and my memory is faulty--but I believe it to be true.

I think the gambling age in california is 18 but most indian casinos adhere to 21 because they serve alcohol.

For some reason I am thinking that you can play poker at 18 in the West Virginia racinos.

I once read that the first tribal compact in Oregon allowed 18 year olds. But the rest put the age at 21.

Some of the other states where it may be going on may be Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, Washington, Wisconsin.

If you live in any of these areas and know casinos where 18 year olds are permitted to gamble could you tell us. And also do they have poker rooms?

You shouldn't gamble. Stick to masturbating to Hustler, getting into 18 nightclubs and standing around with your pimpled friends, and going to the mall with your mom to buy clothes. No gambling. Turn 21 then knock yourself out.

Remove Arizona from your list. All 21+ now (used to be 18, way back in the day).

All the non-tribal casinos in Washington state are 18+ (all the one's I've been to, anyways). The tribal ones might be too, but I dunno.

I haven't had a pimple in 30 years. I'm actually 18 X 3 +1. I just thought the 18-21 years olds should know that there are brick and mortars they can play poker in.

Meskwaki in Tama, Iowa recently found a loophole in their compact with the state that let them open their poker room to 18 year olds. No table games for them, though, so more donkeys, more fun.

It's by region, and by whatever your indian [nation] negotiated with your local government(s).

Ours (Arizona) for example, do. Tableside or at the bar.

The gambling age in CA is 21, but many of the Indian casinos are 18(not all iirc). The most popular 18+ Indian casino in So Cal amongst the thundercats I think is Morongo near Cabazon.

Chinook winds casino, Lincoln City, Oregon coast, 18+ casino and poker room with no alcohol save in 21+ lounge upstairs.

Spirit Mountain casino, closer to Portland, same way I believe.

study and learn to play well while you are young, the discipline it takes to play well will serve you well. approach it as a hobby rather than a career choice.

Montana is 18+ for gambling.

Only problem is that the only gambling allowed is video poker/Keno and thankfully Poker/Cards. There are lots of poker games but none that run 24/7 and no big rooms. Most are a table or two in a bar/casino and most will only have a game going in the evening on certain nights of the week. Some places have games that run daily but that is the exception rather than the rule.

We also have a pot limit of $300.

Wow. How is that enforced? If the pot hits 300 in the middle of a betting round, are the players left to act forced to fold, or are they allowed to stay in the hand without having to put $$ in the pot?

And I thought FL's 100max buy-in was crazy.
