Just curious,

What's the best way to deal with a fish complaining that you're not playing enough hands without offending them or giving away information. I don't want to tell him that I play this way because it's better, or that I'm actually trying to win and not just gambling. And saying that I have been getting ****ty cards for 15mn isn't really believable to a fish who playing 80% of hands. So how do I not tap the glass in this situation... And I obviously don't want to make them leave.

TL/DR I fail at table talk with fish.

Thanks.

There's no way to say this without sounding sarcastic.

"It's my money, I'll play how I want."

If its a 1 time thing with a fish who has no long term value to you, explain it away with the "Im card dead" thing.

However, of you're playing a fair amount, and you're getting a nitty rep, find the first spot where a good bluff has solid equity and chance of success, and be sure to show it off and advertise it.

Play more hands.
Having fish that enjoy/want to play with you is worth far more than whatever fraction of equity you give up straddling or playing an extra hand let so to give the appearance of action.

I hate the PC attitude of not wanting to offend anyone. You do not have to justify your play to anyone. And you do not have to worry about offending anyone. People are offended because they want to be offended and they will make up anything to be offended by

It's not PC, it's selfish.

If its a low limit level (1 2 or 2 5): make a ridiculous bluff in the spot, where you are just not getting called and show. Example: bluff $6 on the river into a $8 limp pot in 1 2 and then show your 83o in big blind whether you get called or not.
After that go back to your nit shell and get ready to get paid on your KK when they come an hour later :-)
Also, order a beer to make you seem more "actiony"

I personally just make it into a joke. If someone comments about my tightness I say "only aces".

By the way I started a very similar thread in LLSNL a little while ago if you want more opinions.

I see this almost every time I play $1/2 NLHE here in Florida. Don't even try to deal with it as there is no answer to satisfy the question. Just assume he will either donk off his chips and leave the room, or get frustrated and transfer to a more "actiony" table. Honestly, sometimes, particularly after a drink or two, that's me asking the question...
