Before and after. People who think it's dumb like the idea of having the dudes on their tables finger filth all over their Ace in the hole.

move the button for the dealer and push your bets out far enough

hate sitting in something like 6 or 7 and having to push a guys limp out every time because he puts it out a few inches from his stack

have some consideration for the dealers

Here's a bit of advice. Don't touch another player's chips. Ever. If the player's not putting it out far enough, that's between him and Dealer.

While I appreciate the sentiment...

Please don't move the button, unless the dealer asks. If you absolutely can't refrain, say "button moved" as you do it.

Your touching his chips is worse than what he's doing.... don't do this.
Why not just politely suggest that he place his chips where the dealer can reach them? Or let the dealer handle it?

When a player has repeatedly put his chips 1" in front of his cards, and the short-armed dealer has had to ask each and every hand the last 15 hands for the bet to be pushed up, and each time the player had already spaced out and was distracted and not paying attention so the game was delayed while the dealer repeated the request, and then finally stood up out of her seat and stretched to pull the bet in...

It's time to just move the idiot's chip forward for him if you're his neighbor.

Etiquette is fine, but stupidly adhering to it while the game grinds to a stop every hand is not. If you don't want me touching your chips, stop being a dangling dingleberry and put 'em where the 5'2" dealer can reach 'em.
02-20-2012 , 01:22 PM
and I was glad I didn't bet on the hand!

The ironic thing about the hand was the player called a shove on the TURN - not the river, the TURN - with the A-J. The shove was for about 70% of his stack, so 9 outs for a flush plus the other 3 10s with one card to come is what a 25% chance of winning the hand for 70% of his stack?

Wow. Just wow. But how do you fold when you have a royal flush draw?

somehow me sliding "his" chips into the middle is bad.... i still dont get why

the dealer doesnt wanna look like an @ss to a customer that they are hoping to get tips from, so most of the time they just keep reaching every hand

i'd rather help the dealer out then have "bad etiquette' on something like touching "his chip"

reaching into his stack is a different story, but once he has limped its no longer his chip its the pots chip

I've stayed at Harrah's a few times & generally been satisfied. Prices during the week can be very low ($50 or lower) and prices on the weekend are typically around $125-$225.

For this coming weekend however they are quoting over $500-$600 for a standard room! I called to find out what gives & got a person who may as well have been a robot.

Is this typical?
Is something going on?
Who would pay $600 for a standard room at Harrah's? Even the Borgata charges closer to $350!

Idk about the room prices, but whenever I call a CET property I feel like I'm speaking to a robot so that part is standard.

For about the last 2 years my stats at 2/5NL have been 1705 hours for $38.4 an hour for total of $65,472 profit. I have been working with a bankroll of around 25-28k. Since the beginnig of this year I played 167 hours and I am stuck around 6500 in 2-5nl, I have had about 3k in tournment earnings which has helped a little, i play in 1k buy in 2-5 game , so it plays a big at times, im just curious about other 2-5 grinders and there downswings, i am good friends with alot regulars at my local casino it seems like there worse downswings are around 4k-5k, ive been playing for a livivng the last year and half, not really as my first choice. Iowned a business for 5 years, and it closed due to the economy. Ive been playing poker since age 19,(i am 32 now). and always had small success every year, just never really kept stats before i did it for a living. So ive been really just staying a float by poker, i have no college eduaction or job expereince , ive only been self employed. I put alot of expections on myself starting in 2012, and ive been dissapointed with my results, and ive been thinking of trying to find employment, but have had a hard time do to my poor resume and job history, my bills are starting to pile, my bankroll is shrinking, and mentally im just drained. My plan is to try to find something part time and maybe grind 1-2nl?

I've been playing 2/5 full time as well for about a year and a half, but I play in an uncapped game which plays more like a 5-10 IMO. The sickest downswing I ever took was about 12k..I then purchased and read the mental game of poker and settled down a little. I came to realize after about 6k or so I started playing with accumulated tilt and wasn't playing my A game. I fortunately am young and have very little overhead, so I wasn't too panicked. My roll at the time was around 25k, so I probably lost about half. Fortunately I had a 10k month to follow and continued my journey upward.

Also be sure you frequently check your risk of ruin. I'm sure whatever you use to keep track of everything has your standard deviation/hour. Plug the numbers in and see how high it is. I personally don't like mine over 1%, but I'm a bankroll nit, and fortunately I'm well under that.

20k half 5/10 half 2/5 is my worst. It would be stupid too be down if you are still decently rolled. You should be confident at 2/5 you have obviously played enough to know you're a winner in the game.

Been playing live poker for a living for 2 years now. Over the years I've come across little things from time to time which I hate that I think all brick & mortar players have come across. I'm thinking about writing a poker humor book with a list of 100 of these things along with illustrations.

For example;

I hate people who count out their bets, calls, and raises in stacks of $10.

On the other side of the page would be a picture of a guy putting out a stack of $200 in 20 stacks.

Do you guys think this could sell to the poker community?

Seeing visual representations of situations that make you unhappy or angry? And it's supposed to be funny?

I don't want those players to stop counting out their bets in stacks of $10.

I am looking to speak to any kind of adminstrator regarding Borgata Poker. I have been playing poker full time until the recent situation of online poker.. Now most of my time goes to Live poker. I have been to all the casino's and playing full time collectively. I think I am going to stick with Borgata full time as I like their poker room the best. I do have to travel a lot and was interested in finding out if i can upgrade to a black card as i would not have to pay for parking. I would then be committing my time to play at Borgata fully and not at the other casino's if I were able to upgrade. I have already accumulated lots of hours and comps in just the recent time I have been playing. Please if anyone knows any info or know a person I can message to figure this out, i'd appreciate it. Thanks.

It is because of the holiday weekend. I get free rooms from total rewards during the week and discounted weekends.. if u play a decent amount they will give them to you. Ask about it.. Holiday weekends are ridiculous and you should ask about getting comped rooms.

I doubt they will give you a black card. but he might be able to help you out with parking. I play there fairly infrequently and I used to get free parking coupons in the mail periodically.

So they may be able to help you out with the parking. Also, just so you know, the surface parking right outside the poker room is free. Its just the garage parking that you have to pay for.

That is the new comp rate for poker at Prairie Meadows in Des Moines.

After 40 hours I can get a bottle of water and a Snickers or a burger, hmmm.....
