Why do we keep doing it? Why do we keep doing it?

We all have many stories connected to this, but why do we do things that we don't like, and don't even have to do?

For example a moment ago I played Sping&Go, and even I won there is more what I dislike than what I like. Its not even easy to see what is pot, and what is prize-pool.

I guess its about habits, and emotions. I could analyze a bit further, but I'm not in that mood, and I don't want to write a new thread about 'why don't we do'.

We (human) are explorers.
Doing all kinds of both desirable and undesirable shiat is just a learning proces that leads to wisdom.

Your lesson was, you didn't like Spin&Gos so you should stay away from them.
If you fire up another one, lesson not learned.
It's all simple really.

Main reason, I'd say - doing the familiar is more comfortable, so we keep doing it (eg, smoking or staying in a bad relationship, or tilting in poker)

It seems you are both right. Battle between comfort, and profit.

human nature; some people say psychologically and subconsciously, we really want to do it, even if it is losing; listen to Steely Dan's "Do It Again".....

It's a habit.
And you're all right.

It's excitement, and it's addictive. People with mania talk about how good it feels to be in that state.

But while excitement makes us see more possibilities it can also make us impulsive, and making impulsive decisions with money has consequences. Honestly, I Phil Hellmuth isn't a top class player because he doesn't handle his emotions well. You have to resist the addictive aspects and be disciplined, and it's hard.
