"I'll show." "I'll show."

It's 50/50, it either means they want you to call or they want you to fold. I don't think this is a tell unless you really know your oppenents personality or you've seen them do this before with a different player, either way it's still pretty much a toss up.

Like every other tell its person dependant....From my experience it means..

TAG- strong yet vulnerable hand they dont want to get played back at with ie TPTK weak 2 pair etc

Bad/social player- The nuts

LAGtard- bluff

It's not 100 percent but if you're up against someone who's playing to win money as their main motivation, and they say, "I'll show," it means they want you to fold. Not necessarily that you have them beat always, but that they want you to fold.

That has been my experience in live play in Vegas. Usually they were bluffs from LAGs.

I said it once as a bluff, too.

Judging by the comments on this thread, If I was playing against most of the players on here....

Then when I'm sat on the nuts, I say 'I'll show'....

Has anyone had someone say "I'll show", folded, and then had villain muck their hand without showing? If so, what was your reaction?

"I'll show" is like all other 'tells' in poker, they are different for every individual player.

i don't think so. you can lie about your hand so i think you can lie about showing. but it would be an incredibly dickish thing to do, just poor etiquette that might get you punched in the mouth if you do it to the wrong person

Yeah... I was in a tournament heads up against a youngish guy... I had pushed on the river with essentially the nuts and he was staring me down pretty hard. I had the impression that he probably read all of the "required reading" and was probably in the over-thinking phase of his decision.

He asked, "If I fold will you show?"
I straightened myself up in my chair and said "What?"
He repeated. I quickly nodded and said "Sure" and partially lifted my cards off the table, like I was eager for him to fold so I could turn my cards face up... he instacalled.
