it stresses me out to know that I could play perfectly and just lose it all. i mean, i'm playing rolled enough that this is very very unlikely, but i still think about it.
the other thing that stresses me out is that maybe i'll wake up tomorrow and i won't be a winner anymore (not cuz of variance, but cuz everyone else just improves). again, very unlikely but i still think about it.
there was a time when id get a huge adrenaline rush every time i was gonna play poker, whereas now, with much more money i dont even wanna play. i thought taking the last 2 days off would help, but its not really. curious to see what ppl have to say about this
But seriously, just keep in mind that poker is a long term game. Day-to-day results don't mean anything unless you are a below-average player.
If the money aspect stresses you out, I would recommend to start playing limits where you're over-rolled as opposed to "just rolled." Having 50+ buy-ins to back you up or 1,000 big bets makes losing a piece of your roll much easier to deal with.
If poker stresses you out and changes the way you live your life, maybe you need to think of doing something else or switch over to MTTs - if they are less stressful - for a while until your head is clear.
Having a daily stop-loss helps to and always remember to never chase your losses. Sure, you might recover 5 times, but if your moving up fails on the 6th time, it was all for nothing... good luck with your FPPs and have fun trying to re-deposit.
Poker should not encompass your life unless you are one of the very few who can play it professionally. Treat it as a hobby, not a life-course.
Seriously, I get a craving for mac and cheese after a couple of bad days in a row. I am disappointed that my local grocery no longer carries those cheap-ass 2lb frozen mac and cheese, which I would buy on sale for $2.
