I find my biggest problem is taking losses personally. I play well and crush games untill I inevitebly get unlucky and lose. I take the loss badly and move up. I lose, I tilt. I turn 100 into 3kish so smoothly countless times. I then proceed to blow it in an hr or two. I just hate losing. I know that losing is a part of the game and need to fix this huge leak. Anyone have similar issues or ways to fix it?

There is nothing you can do to get around the stress and anger. I know this sounds pretty simple but I have alot of knowledge when it comes to the psych of gambling. There is no easy road.

Best case scenario.

Take your losses like a man.
Never move up when your loosing just play it out.
Focus on playing your A game all the time.

And if you can beat the game than you will find yourself stressed and angered for the rest of your life yet you will have money in your wallet. This is the life of gambling.

Sounds like bad bankroll management and bad tilt issues. Dont play a limit without 20 buy ins and quite if u start getting pissed off or other bad emotions. You prolly just play bad in general too, dont worry ur not the only one that sucks.

I'm not sure what you want people to tell you. You pin point exactly what you are doing wrong then ask for suggestions. Don't do it. Problem solved.

Your just not a good player. Poker isn't about winning with good cards. It's about playing the game and dealing with bad cards and so forth. So when you say you play "well" your not really playing well. Your just running good like every other degenerate.

If you can't learn to control the urge to move up to have a chance to get even, you don't value all your dollars the same. when you are stuck 500, that other 2500 is still 2500. Respect it, and log off if you can't handle the swing

Implement a stop-loss for whenever you think the loss begins to hurt. (for me it is after losing 2.5 Buy-ins)
Although there will be times where you might be playing very well and be sharp and just had some bad luck, most of the time you won't be on top of your game after the loss of x amount (w/e it is for you), and the times you go on monkey-tilt and lose 1/2 of your BR vs. the times you play g00d and make up lost cash (+more) makes quitting much better, IMO.

I agree with this guy. Playing poker well isn't about getting your $$$ in good. It's also a lot about dealing with tilt, playing your A game, and having proper bankroll management. Without these things, even Durrr and Ivey would be fish.

When fixing problems like these take small simple steps that can be measured. Don't try to go gung ho and super disciplined in 1 night, that will just lead to dissapointment.

I recommend as a first step...when you get tilty and lose a big pot, log off and walk away from your computer. See if u can do this for 1 week.
