The Curse of being Nitty (PARANOIA WILL DESTROY YA) The Curse of being Nitty (PARANOIA WILL DESTROY YA)

I am seen as a winning TAG who essentially went into a 1/2 home game about 2 years ago with the intention of just nut peddling for about the first 2 months.

This game is usually occupied by the same players week in week out and there really isn't much talent. There are a few LAGs and a few Calling Stations with a couple of TAGs sprinkled in. Once in a while there is a maniac but recently he quit the game because no one would get involved in pots with him and when they did they usually had him crushed (big surprise!)

I basically nitted it up because I was new to the game and wanted to have a solid image in order to abuse the other players in spots where I can use my image to gain FE and pick up small pots later on that no one is fighting for. So after 2 months that is what I did. I started balancing my range better and started 3! and even 4! in spots that a nit just wouldn't fire out at and it worked great.

But now that it has been over 2 years in the game I am starting to find myself in spots where I get involved in pots and I get this overwhelming feeling that certain players know that I am a nit and feel that if they fire out, I'll just fold. So instead of just being the one in control of the betting I find myself being donked into and then the doubt enters my head.

At this point I find myself calling down in spots a nit just would not call down in and it usually ends up bad. Its not like I call 3 streets with mediocre holdings, its usually something like TPWK and its usually to river bets that I'm calling after the turn gets checked. Either way I am now slowly destroying the image I've created for myself.

I don't wanna go back to full nit, its just too damn boring. Should I just be using b/f, c/f strat in most cases when these spots come up?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks
CF

I don't think this is a curse of being nitty. Its mostly a curse of having additional knowledge about the game and missaplying it. Or rather self leveling. Or FPS.
FR winning poker is most of the time boring and a constant repetition of what works.

Re specific strategy, it depends on more factors then "how is my image perceived". Cant do c/f or b/f if they donk into you. Just fold otr. Post some hands in llsnl for hand strat.

I'm a bit confused. You say that players think you're a nit and feel if they fire out, you'll fold. Then the next line you're talking about them donking into you.

I think that long range image is similar to short range image on a different scale. Sounds dumb, I know. I'd reacommend thinking of your long range inmage like you do your short range image: when the table is tight, loosen up; when the table is loose, tighten up.

Same thing long term. If you think your image is getting too laggy, then tighten it up for a while

Make a lot of small raises and they will stop donking.
