I didn't get any weird symbols either. A couple of minutes after making my last post Global went back to being normal for me, and also I BELIEVE I got my balance from the hand I played right when it froze, not positive but whatever.

Happened to me today at PLO100 - 3 handed.
Player opens pot to 3.5 - we both call
Flop comes out
And it closes the table
it appears the pot was chopped and I got my balance. Never had it happen in the middle of a hand before though.
