Pay the Rake and stop complaining Pay the Rake and stop complaining

Other threads bash the rake. This one is +1 for the rake. Global is a business. Takes money for a business to run. Millions might go into a site before the first hand is even dealt. Investors need to be paid, workers need to be paid, infrastructure, rent, utilities, equipment, computer servers, furnishings, technicians, lawyers, software development or leasing, advertising etc. Profit is last. After profit all of the above have to be paid again and again.

Highest rake in the industry? Then GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Simple as that.

We all pay a 20 to 30% tip or more when dining out without crying about it. If you can't afford the tip then eat at home.

You play poker. Do you want just a little bit of profit just to get by? The answer is no. You want as much profit as you can get to live a nice life and enjoy some of the finer things. People run a business. Do they want just a little bit of profit just to get by? The answer is no.

I see how much rake I am paying and it is a lot but that is the price I pay to the owners of this business for a chance for me to make money on their site. They deserve a percentage of my winnings. If I go to a brick and mortar I pay even more when the tips are factored in for each winning hand and for servers. Not to mention $9 beers or $13 mixed drinks.

No need to comment if you are going to whine about rake here. There are other threads to do that where you will feel vindicated for doing so because other whiners are agreeing with you. The same self gratifying feeling you get when someone "likes" the picture you posted on Facebook, (and you were just waiting for the likes to come rolling in). Grow up, stop complaining and pay your share.

Now after reading all that and having the feeling you agree with me you will still go back to your whining complaining ways and comment just waiting for that FB picture to be "liked" won't you. Yeah just as I thought. No +1 from you even though you know you should be.

WAH!

NH, GG, GL see you at the tables.🐹

There is a balancing act to how much it is worth it to pay to play. However OP is right if that scale tilts to a point where it not worth playing on the site then the mass exodus will change Global's rake amount not whining.

So keep pushing Global to improve their product and if they don't improve their product the way you like then move on. Players leaving > Players whining imo.

You know what gives companies an incentive to improve customer satisfaction? Actual free market competition.

If you feel motivated to complain, complain to your elected representatives that we need a better legal & regulatory solution for online poker in the US. Whining about the rake on 2+2 might be cathartic, but why not turn that catharsis to good use?

Free market competition is what we don't have. If we did, their take would substantially decrease.

Shady loopholes leading to American access is causing the bending over to accept the b.s..

Global poker 10/20 PLO/NL rake:

HU 3-4 handed 5+

5% $5.00 5% $5.50 5% $5.50

PokerStars 10/20 PLO/NL rake:

HU 3-4 handed 5+

4.5% $1.75 4.5% $1.75 4.5% $3

Anyone playing these stakes will pay 100K+/year with decent volume on Global poker. Outside of maybe Macau it’s not possible to pay that much in rake at a brick and mortar casino. You would have to tipping absurd numbers to even come close.

Did Global pay you to make this OP?

Also, where the heck are you playing live that charges you those prices for drinks?

This is pathetic, GP white knight in the building, someone please explain why any human on earth would advocate more rake being a good thing? Its not like GP is investing tons of money into the industry like Pokerstars, and even then their rake isnt excusable just because they are the only ones in the industry doing such to increase the game

If they had high rake and a fabulous site with amazing software, then sure. But with glitchy software and no access to hand histories or even basic game accounting.... I'll stick with other sites.

Also, I'd much rather NOT have my winnings going through paypal. Despite it being a selling point, I don't think it's a good thing at all. That's a separate point though...

I think if you carefully reread the post you were responding to, you'll find your reply isn't nearly as clever as you thought it was.

Of course they did not pay me.

I play at casinos in Upstate NY and over the boarder in Niagara Falls Canada.

I am not a white night.

I did not advocate more rake being a good thing.

How do you know how much GP is and has invested so far? You don't.

Exactly what I'm saying to do instead of complaining about the rake. See you get it!

No sir (madam) I am not in on anything. I am just a regular guy, playing poker not constantly complaining over and over again about the same topic in multiple threads. I am just paying the rake for the privilege to play in any state since Black Friday.
