Global Table Chat Global Table Chat

I happened to send in a screenshot because this guy was trying to be like Jamie Gold talking about his holdings during live action. Per the TOS, it's not allowed unless it's HU on a FT.

Check out part of the response from Global. I'm all for it.

Thanks Global

Hi xxxxxx,

Thanks for letting us know about this. Sorry to hear about your experience.

We’ll make sure that it’s reported to the network team. They’ll take appropriate action against the player(s).

While tables are monitored proactively, it’s not possible to check all chat logs on every table, so if you do experience any other problems, let us know. Also, please note that the chat option will also be remove from the site for the meantime.

Thank you for your understanding and should there be any other concern, please do contact us back.

Best regards,

This may be weird but I really like the chat box. You can GG players ya take out, some of the banter is entertaining and tells you A LOT about who you are playing. They should use some simple language filters but leave the chat. You don't have to have it open if you don't like it.

TOS violations can be reported but chat should b left alone, IMO

That seems like it might be a mistake or ill informed rep. I really hope it's a mistake, removing the chat box from the site would probably be a significant mistake in terms of marketing to recs. Every site has chat and many recs like being able to GG their opponent or chat with their fellow players.

It's true no one wants to see some idiot berating players, but that's what the mute player function is for.

EDIT: Or maybe they mean the chat box in the tournament lobby. That I never understood why they had but no loss there, who cares. Table chat is a different story though.

Please don't remove the table's chatbox.

I hope they dont take away chat because adults get their feelings hurt so easy. I find it a lot of the people who get their feelings hurt are the first to brag and rub it in when they win a bad beat, but just cant take it when they lose any hand. There is no way taking chat away is good for recs anyway i think they would lose a considerable amount of business if this does happen.

he might have meant that player has lost his chat

that's was my initial reaction earlier too, I was about to post the same thing. I do know players have had their chat removed for abuse in the past and they will also let people self block their ability to chat if they so desire for tilt control etc.

I assumed that at first as well but their wording and the recent MTT lobby chat removal made me think otherwise. I'm sure many of the rec's hated that.

I don't care really, mostly my tables are silent except for the occasional Tasmanian devil tilting rage rant of a normal beat.

Yeah, I am hoping this doesn't mean the chatbox on all games is getting tossed. I think I'd be outta here if that happened. I don't make enough for the games to be worth it without the entertainment of my fellow grinders. I noticed there's a typo/grammatical error in the response as well, so who knows what it really means.

Nobody misses the tournament lobby chat except erictheump. I think a lot of players would miss table chat if it were gone, not to mention it's been a part of online poker forever.

Great. Now the fish will start paying more attention to the game.

Getting rid of chat is a bad idea. Bovada got rid of chat and it feels so robotic at this point. Poker is a social game, they have a mute button, take advantage of that.

I now truly believe it was just a typo in the rep's e-mail back to me or they may have meant to be referring to the MTT lobby chat that already got nixed for the time being vs. the "site" as they originally typed.

I got this today from support regarding my same ticket. lol Never once did I request my chat to be disabled.

Please be advised that we also temporarily disabled your chat as you requested but please let us know should you reconsider enabling it again.

Haha, no doubt on the ump dude, he was like a robotic whinebag in there.

Yep on the 2nd part with poker being a sociable game at least live anyway.

No idea. But I never looked at a lobby chat he wasn't in yammering away. And 90% of the time he was talking about how great he was at poker or whining about bad beats. Funny how often those two topics seem to go hand in hand.

I looked in to his stats on scope, he was at that time still winning but it looked like he was kind of slowly giving it back.

Very true Gluten. Most of what I saw him spewing also was how the newest players that were only a week or less old on GP would be the ones hitting the podium in that MTT....because the "lottery" would select them with the "winning ticket" for that particular MTT.

Hilarious....yet sadly enough some people were buying into it.

Yeah, that's the dark side of chat..... riggie spawn
