Do I assume correctly that since there are 34BB in the pot already when we 4bet. It means we can't fold and need to call his shove?
Thank you
I'm not a math wizzard (yet?) but let me make sure if I understood.
He 3bets 15% of his pre flop hand range and continues with only 33% of that 3bet range (5%) if you decide to 4bet.
Now you are asking if you have to call 6BB more if he shoves 30BB?(You made it 24BB and he shoves for 6BB more) Or do you mean that he shoves for 30BB more on top of your 24BB 3bet?
You're getting 34+6 to 6 on a call so your hand needs to have approximately 14% equity vs his hand range for your final call to be profitable.
(40/6 => you need to win less than 1 out of 7 times with your hand vs his range)
If you decided to 4bet deuces and he shoves aces, you still have 20% equity so you have to call. If you have suited connectors like 7s8s and he shoves an overpair you still have about 30% equity and make a profitable call.
Just my 2 cents, but I hope someone corrects me if I'm wong
