something I like about ben86 is his ability to zoom out and be very honest about his own abilities in this and that, not letting his view on himself be overshadowed by his own success. I have a feeling this ability is more essential in poker than in many other intellectual doings. for in poker one doesnt get immediate response to wheter one is right or wrong in ones judgement. so the one who cannot take a step back to reflect and question his own conduct will not be able to change for a better direction. if one is to improve oneself in this game one has to always be focusing on talking the truth to oneself, not falling for the temptation to talk mostly high and positive about ones own judgement and play, for then the times one does not make good judgements and plays can very easily increase in number and size. the other ben has also stated that his ability to self criticism is one of his best abilities. i believe this ability to be honest to oneself both admidst success and failure will be common in top poker players, the game will be too punishing on those who lack this skill.

Enjoyed the podcast with Ben.

First one i managed to watch live and whilst the Fullflush podcast was a hoot, for life EV this latest Ben86 podcast was excellent. Outside of poker people like Ben86 and Sauce have a lot to offer the world. Good men and great thinkers, and we can sure use more of them. Great job Joey, you're really hitting your stride as a host. I mean you've been good for a while but you're really taking off in that regard, and it's not as easy as you make it look.
