Mid Range Hunter thoughts:

King's Elekk super good. It's strong in a vacuum and now Minibot and Mad Scientist are leaving so it should be in a good spot. Some trash like Huge Toad or Flame Juggler is going to make the cut.

Dreadscale probably good at 3

Tiger is def the best 5 drop

Bow sucks without secrets

4 drop besides Houndmaster is going to be horrendous. Uhh Ancient Shade maybe?

How much value is that?

Well, there already is a 5/4 taunt in the game, actually two of them rip booty bay, for 4 mana. Evil Heckler is a great arena card, just has no synergy so doesn't see constructed play. If Evil Heckler was 3 mana it would get played in every single deck in the game. Further, a 5/4 taunt is actually a relevant late game card even though its on a mid game body.

Lets give it a 3.5 mana + card. This is a great constructed value.

What about that 5/2 charge? Well we have a 4/2 charge for 3 mana with Arcane Golem and a 6/2 charge for 5 mana with Leerrrrroy both that have drawbacks. Both see constructed play as finishers where there drawbacks don't matter. If there was a 4 mana 5/2 charge with no drawback it would get played in literally all sorts of decks. At 5 mana you might play this over Leeroy, maybe. And Leeroy doesn't see a lot of play at 5 mana.

Lets just say this is an amazing 4 mana card + a card.

Now we are left with the 2/4. We've built in the buff value to the other cards. I realize that sometimes this dies before your opponent trades out your Misha, but you also sometimes have stuff on board that get 1 extra attack the turn this card is played.

I think we can give this a conservative 2 mana + a card value.

It costs a card to play all this value, so the final value of this is 9.5 mana + two cards. That's ~ 12 mana of value. Twelve mana. In a card that requires 0 setup, 0 synergy. Plop it on the board and go. And this card likely activates all types of synergy with other cards in your deck like Houndmaster and Kill Command.

This card is insane.

Highmane -> Gladiator's Longbow -> Call of the Wild seems like it would be a great sequence in a slower style of Hunter.

Because it's a dead card in a hunter's hand from turns 1-7. Turn 8 and onward balanced decks should be able to handle part of that card if not all, and aggro decks would already have killed the hunter.

EDIT: Without a solid replacement for Belchers I just don't see hunters being able to play the long game. Correct me if there is a belcher replacement because I haven't looked at every card yet.

Contrary to what others think, I do believe that Hunter has adequate tools to "control" a game. Unleash and Explosive Trap are both good AoE, Bear Trap slows down aggro. I doubt Timber Wolf is worth running but it makes Unleash twice as strong. Hunter's Mark is a reasonable removal tool. Hunters can make it difficult to develop a board, it's just that previously they had to rely on Highmane as the hard hitters of their deck. Any deck can run Dr. Boom etc. so Hunters were relatively under powered in the late game when it came to their class cards. King Krush isn't going to cut it when it's compared to the likes of Tirion, Jaraxxus, or Antonidas.

I don't think Hunter will ever catch on as a control class because they don't have certain utility cards other control classes have.

Like healing/armor, Paladin, Priest and Warrior have that.
Or Freeze, like Mage.
Or abundant board clears, like Priest, Mage, and Warrior have.

So Hunter's lack of HP regain and their lack of board clears makes them an inferior choice for control style players.

Hunter's hero power is also useless for controlling the board.

Nobody is saying hunter is playing the long game. I am saying they will play the kill on turn 8-12 game more often.

Most classes do that as is. I don't see how it makes one slow card broken.
