And this after effectively buffing warleader the last time they did nerfs. Just a collection of clowns who have cool jerbs they probably shouldn't have.

Yeah it's pretty bad at this point. I might even stop logging in for dailies.

The only change I don't like is FWA. I think it's mostly good.

But, the most OP card in the game just got nerf so I may just be giddy about that.

LOL I hate shamans and there are like 50 cards in the game I'd nerf over Hex.

Even in the heyday of shamanstone, Hex was never a problem. The problem was the combination of insane early game (Trogg-Totem Golem-Claws-Portal) that meant they either out tempo you or they remove all your stuff.

When you see that they're messing around with core cards, you know the design team is in over their heads.

Shaman is in a mediocre spot right now, and this forever changes the dynamic between Miracle Rogue and shamans because they don't have an answer on curve for Edwin/Questing, so they get smacked in face for 10 or their board gets rekt.

To the murloc pally talk - don't forget how they schemed Old Murk Eye out of standard on the count of some technicality. Anyfin Paladin was a legit fun control deck that took skill and MATH and wasn't at any point OP.

Contrast that to Pirate Warrior, which has an insane winrate with 3 minute games. They print something for the deck every expansion, I can only presume it's just because the deck exists. Now when they finally want to do something about it, they kill off the only card that overlaps with other Warrior decks that are underpowered in today's meta.

They gave the Warsong Commander treatment to innervate. They probably should've just put it in the hall of fame instead of ruining it. I assume they will support druid in future xpacs with rogue-like combos of cheap cards, but that doesn't help for now.

It also seems like they are trying to standardize card values. 3 mana 3/2 weapon has become standard (FWA, Eaglehorn Bow, the paladin weapon, shaman has the 2 mana+overload 2/3 weapon). Also 4 mana for class removal (hex, polymorph), except rogue still has that 5 mana assassinate.

I don't think they had this on their minds but one effect of nerfing more basic/classic is that more xpac cards will need to be used and thus raise the cost of the game for players. They game is already so expensive.

Seriously, lots of fun decks being sacrificed at the altar of PW and JD. How about you address pirates and jades instead?

PW got nerfed (STB) and then Un'goro gave the meta PW hate (Crawlers and better Ooze). Freebooter is the first new pirate since MSG.

PW was never the problem in any meta.

watch out for quest mage after these nerfs too. it'll be good, because it may keep priest in check. I never thought I'd say that last sentence.

Here's a list of the places of PW among all deck archetypes in vS snapshot power rankings(among legend or 1-5 or whatever they happen to have as the highest) filtered for this calendar year(a year ago warriors also had control, dragon, tempo, OTK and they've proceeded to kill all of these off).

It's been the strongest deck available from a matchup matrix POV for a while, which also coincidentally happens to have the shortest games and the most smorcing going on. It makes me not want to play the game so for me it is a big problem.

I would just strongly prefer if the decks with the highest winrate in the game were control decks that include multiple hard decisions each turn. I'm probably in the minority but I loved the peak times of freeze mage. And if you must have a rock-paper-scissors type of situation with aggro-midrange-control then I would prefer if the rock didn't win every time and wasn't made of AIDS.

I usually just play at the very most 200-300 games each month and don't take it that seriously, haven't got any golden heroes and have been playing since like 2014. Last season I made top1000 legend just by picking my daily choice between Pirate warrior, aggro druid, jade druid and midrange pally. None of those decks have any type of character, they aren't interesting and fun to play but they are insanely successful.

jmakin's point about miracle rogue getting a boost is a good point but it seems like a lock that 40% of games will still be against jade druids and the like. It's just frustrating that the game could be so much better.

That's what blizzard wants though. A simple game for simple gamers. It's better for them to have more brain dead decks that anyone can pilot to legend so that people stick around and buy more packs. The competitive community complaining about the meta is such a small slice of the overall player base.

I might play if Miracle Rogue is good again but I feel like I've moved on.

don't quite feel like that's the case, this has been the most complex card set released with very few fillers.

Just a shame no one can play the vast majority of them because this is currently yet another aggro/tempo meta or jade

Which brings me back to the point that like lenC said i wish control meta (©) would finally happen. As is everything is SMOrc, Jade, or a control deck that literally techs in 15-20+ cards to deal with aggro (see: priest, control mage)

I would have liked to see these changes:

Innervate: 0 mana spell, "Refresh 2 mana crystals".

Patches: 1 mana 1/1 minion, "Charge. If patches is in the top half of your deck, summon it from your deck once you play a pirate".

Ultimate infestation: 10 mana spell, "Deal 4 damage, summon a 4/4, draw 4 cards, gain 4 armour".

Dirty rat: 2 mana 2/3 minion, "reveal the minions in your opponent's hand".

Fiery War Axe: 2 mana 3/2 weapon, "Can't attack heroes".

Jade Idol: 1 mana spell, "Choose one - Summon a Jade or shuffle 3 copies of Jade Spirit into your deck".

I think I would have nerfed Spreading Plague in the same way as Blizzard did. Hex and warleader nerfs are whatever.

Hex/Poly being priced cheaper than all 'destroy a minion' effects has always been one of Hearthstone's weirdest quirks, given they're significantly more powerful effects.

I get all all of these, though I might not agree with them entirely, except dirty rat. Dirty Rat isn't a good card in all match ups. In arena it is one of the worst choices you can have often. I'd rather a vanilla 3/2 or 2/3 over it. In aggro or tempo decks dirty rats usually helps your opponent more than it helps you often. It's really good at decks like freeze where you can snatch Alex or something with good battlecrys, but I think it's weird to balance around that exclusively.

how is this possible? if the deck forces tough decisions then most people aren't going to win with it

patron warrior is this deck and was absurdly broken if you could play it properly, but had a sub 50 win % among all the plebs outside top 500 or so

patron decks are the perfect example of a deck that requires skill and play-around.

It's a good deck.

Compare that with curvestone aggro druid, curvestone pirate warrior, and curvestone murloc paladin
