I see what nonfiction is saying though. Often at 10 mana, assuming you've drawn some with acolyte and whatnot, you're pretty far into your deck. If you need to RNG varian into a taunt or whatever it can game save, or into a korkron or something, but I think the statement rings true.
I thought Varian would be nuts, but it's not. Lack of battlecry and total RNG of what you draw limits his battlecry, and when you consider a. at 10 mana he has NO impact (in fact, negative) against fast decks and b. vs super control decks, you play for fatigue it limits his window.
Varian is INSANE vs midrange decks. Fact. They dont kill you fast enough and you dont run out of cards. But against anything else on the polar end he tends to underperform.
