Rake at home games? Rake at home games?

Wow, I guess I assumed the guy was dead, or at least incapacitated, after being shot in the chest. And he held out two weeks before seeking medical care? Pretty crazy.

I can just hear him now - it's only a scratch!

wow I don't think I'd ever play in a non-public place with a rake. That's just plain illegal. When I host tourneys, I say I'll accept small "donations" of 3-5 bucks to pay for whatever food and drinks I've bought. I can assure you I've never come out aheadOn that.

The real "rake" to me is that most of the players I invite suck at poker

we play live $0.50/$1,00

every time there's a flop, and the pot reaches $10, they take $1 rake. simple, but effective.

In college ran a daily game for 2years, instead of raking we charged 10% on all buy ins, It paid for the beers, food and cards.

The "profit" in my mind is the money I'm saving. My girlfriend and I would collectively lose about $12 in rake an hour if we were playing somewhere else/casino. At least that is how I justified it when I was putting a custom built table on my credit card. Now I just need to somehow justify a set of Paulson chips.
