For the trophy, instead of recording profits and losses to determine who the biggest winner is, how about this:

Let's say 8 people play. At the end of the session, rank them from 1 to 8 in terms of who won the most while ignoring the amounts won/lost. Let that be that month's score, do it all twelve months, and crown a winner. It's a slight variation but will still give the appearance of keeping track of who won the most, and in June no one will remember that the #6 guy from February was #6 because he lost four buy ins, they'll simply be thought of as not having finished that highly.

Not that you're going to see this, 2Outs, but it seems as if you're saying to rank them, give points based on the ranking alone... reset for each month, and sum the total for each month.

I still don't know, DougO, why tracking cash game results is important...

Y'know, the ranking may be part of the problem. Deep down they may be feeling, "Well, sure I'm on the bottom, because I play a different type of game and you guys never let me come back from a run a bad cards."

Who wants to allow more rebuys? Winning or losing players? Looking at long-term results, are people consistently on the bottom still in the game?

Cap it at 3 rebuys, 100 bucks, still plays lower than the smallest casino games.

we play .25/.50 in my game. initial $50 buyin.. then unlimited rebuys. the people in the game are old enough to make decisions about how much they wish to buyin for..
if someone is losing, they might wanna rebuy to recoup loses.

the idea of a $25 buyin, plus 1 rebuy is ****.. its not a proper cash game..
if people wanna dump $100 or $1000.. let them go. its their money and their problem if they play outside their means.

my game is with mates, and is social, and everyone has their turns of winning and losing.. we each know our limits, and thats that.

If your very determined to keep the game at the kids table, then maybe raising the buy-in from $25 to $50 this while give people what they want and actually make it so if you guys ever venture out of the poker hell you play in, you will actually understand how to play normal poker versus always playing shallow

Not sure if its been mentioned however the stack size/ blind size is kinda structured for people to get it in sooner then later. 50bb deep is gonna short stack someone who doesn't hit a flop his first few hands and will eventually cause him to **** it or fold mode. You want deep stacks if you are really just trying to keep the game going all night. Also if you like the trophy idea instead of doing wins and losses create a point system so at the end of the year its not actual money but points.

We have a couple looser players that have been asking for unlimited rebuys, or at least more than just one.
So this for one guy who got MIGHT have got hurt once or to let a couple of loose players rebuy again. Couldn't you just have a talk with this ONE GUY in private and say it be better for the game to up the rebuys. Just please don't rebuy more then once so you don't hurt yourself.

Showing wins and losses in a spreadsheet is a bad idea 99% of the time. The point system suggested by others sounds like a much better idea. But if it works for you guys, it works for you guys.

If it has been working for 5 years I don't think I would do anything drastic, I would think 1 extra rebuy would not hurt too much it is only $25 after all. If you are all friends I can understand not wanting your friends to be out rent money after donking off a several hundred dollars in one night but hopefully you know everyone well enough to know they are not coming to the table with their rent money (they can't now anyway cause it's only $50).

Try the one extra rebuy and see what happens.
