anyone heard of Hausing with another player? its when 2 players agree to start and its usually 10% of pots of $30 maxed at $25 whenever one wins a pot they throw that amount to the other player. is this common? ethical? 1/2 nl cash table

Yes. I've heard of it referred to as a "kitty", no idea what the origin of the term is. You'd see it more with a redbird at 2/5 NL for every pot won, maybe two redbirds for agreed upon pots over X amount.

It definitely isn't common. As far as ethical, it really doesn't make much of a difference so I doubt there's anything ethically wrong with it although I'm sure rules nits don't like it.

I don't think there's nearly the possible risk like there is when you fully book each other. I like side games that don't slow down the main game, this one seems fun.

I don't know if I like it at a big-bet table, since it changes the leverage of a short stack's bets, after the payoff. Depends on the game, of course- $2/5 is much different in effect than, say, $0.50/$1.
