Game with uneven starting stacks? Game with uneven starting stacks?

The cash game I frequent recently raised the max buyin to $20 with 10c/20c blinds, but around half the guys still choose to buy in for $10. 8-handed game.

The better players with fancy plays buy in for $20 because they understand the worth of a deeper stack. Most of the $10 stackers are maniacs who don't want to lose that much money in one go, but they aren't total fish, knowing some basic strategy.

Given the circumstances, if I were to buy in for $20, what would be a winning strategy for me? Do drawing hands become weaker since I will be getting less EV against $10 stacks?

What if I were to buy in for $10 (hypothetically, though i just might )? Would basic tight aggressive short stack strategy be sufficient?

What's your basic style of play with 100 bb?

Less implied odds hands more top pair hands vs the Short Stacks
More implied odds - much more position oriented hands against Deep Stacks

Easy Game

This is funny, my home game is the exact same way. Same blinds, and most players will only buy in for $10, but me and my friend Bryce will always buy for $20.

I turn up the aggression. I've found fishy players don't deal well with pressure, and especially not on a short stack where they don't have room to maneuver. However, I've also played with them for 2 years, a few games a week, so I have monster reads on all of them, which allows me to 4bet grayson with AJo and know I'm still good, or know that when Miles bets out $.50 on the flop, regardless of who was the pre-flop aggressor, he's on a draw. When you start paying attention to bad players, it becomes really funny just how bad they really are.

You could have $1,000,000 on the table, but if your opponent has only $10, then you're only playing for $10.

Methinks they know a bit more about strategy than you may assume...
