What an absolute disappointment that was.

7 seasons of it absolute class then that last one was ****.

What a failure. Good luck with that prequel.

season 7 was not good at all

this had been a long time coming

I put battle of the bastards as the episode where they completely abandoned everything that "should" have happened for the masses to get big fistpump moments. North of the wall is where any effort to justify the plot went out the window.

Some fun bad ****, right off the top of my head:

1) Tyrion breaking down into sobs when he (conveniently, and by himself) finds the bodies was uh... not consistent with the character. He murdered his father with a crossbow!

2) They appear to think ash is white? Or that it snows in King's Landing? I think it was ash which boy was Dany lucky that not a single flake ever landed on her very white hair, very fair skin, and very black leather tunic(from the Bad Guy collection at Macy's), almost like it was all inartfully added CGI in post.

3) Sometimes when you write yourself into a real pickle you can just skip to "three weeks later" and never have to explain why Tyrion and Jon aren't dead and how the Unsullied and Dothraki aren't also dead from the immediate subsequent riots.

4) Again, and I know this was only touched on briefly in the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth seasons... Jon would not be sad to rejoin the Night's Watch! He liked it there!

5) **** this show

I liked season 7, some good stuff in it with the build up. Little finger etc

We had one good ep this season and even that was **** because it was dark. Rest are utter crap.

remember when that horse appeared for arya at the end of the last episode? what the hell was the point of that?

she just appears in various points this episode then sails off looking like captain jack sparrow
05-19-2019 , 10:36 PM
just figured it all out - it was the Dexter writers all along

seasons 1-4 = awesome

rest of seasons = descending quality, main character goes off to become a lumberjack

Behold a Pale Horse. OK enough beholding, the horse is gone, turns out I only know those 4 words of the reference so drawing a connection would expose me.

If there's one thing they DEFINITELY established with Arya is that she wanted to immediately leave to go explore the globe after finally reuniting with her family for a few months. I guess they had the set for the ship built already and didn't get that much use out of it.

This show fell off after D&d didn’t have the books to go off of. Any of you who think the suckyness of this season came out of nowhere had their heads in the sand. D&d should give $.50 of every $1 they make to GRRM because they are not talented writers

I liked the final episode until Bran was voted King. Then, it went of the (already broken) rails.

Bran is a strange choice to be King. Hardly anybody in Westeros knows his story and even fewer would understand or believe it.

Jon given a life sentence in the Night's Watch is ridiculous because there's no point for a Night's Watch to exist. Jon seems to have realized this by exiting his prison via the back door.

Tyrion is hand- as a punishment. It's not quite as bad as some of his Small Council members. Bronn is so untrustworthy that if you allowed him to keep HighGarden, you should just send him there to rule and keep him far away from the treasury. Samwell as Grand Maester seems like he's been promoted within the Citidel a bit too quickly. And Brienne as Kingsguard is strange since Sansa is in dire need of someone loyal near her.

But Arya hopping on a ship and sailing west of Westeros might be the most out-of-the-blue and pointless character ending ever.

ha - the 2 clowns didn't even bother to put together a post-show commentary

Drogon was like "if she can't have the iron throne then nobody will"

Is this really the best criticism you could muster?

1.) They've always shown that Tyrion and Jaime cared deeply for each other, including Tyrion's speech to him in the middle of episode 5. Jaime free Tyrion from execution and enables him to kill Tywin. This is one of the most consistent character relationships of the entire show.

2.) It does snow in King's Landing during winter. They showed it at the end of the last episode of Season 7.

4.) The only ones who really wanted to punish Jon were the Unsullied, who would have little reason to know much about Jon's time in the Night's Watch. So it makes sense that the lords would agree to sentence that looked like a punishment to the Unsullied but really wasn't.

Honestly after the rest of the season I was actually pleasantly surprised by the ending. I hated the idea of Jon as ruler, and he wasn’t. I didn’t want Tyrion to die and he didn’t. Whereas I felt oddly both elated and let down by the Long Night and empty after The Bells, I actually felt pretty content at the end if this one. Sounds like I’m in the minority, or maybe I just had such low expectations coming in that it felt like they exceeded them. Either way I was satisfied at the end.

I think one of the things that has stopped me from getting too irate over some of the odd/idiotic developments the last couple seasons is that I’m not sure who to blame. Without knowing what Martin told the producers, and without the final two books (maybe ever), it’s hard to say how much Martin’s original vision was distorted. And I’m not very hopeful we’ll ever get those books so meh.

I liked the entire last season, and thought they did a good job. I literally cannot fathom what people were expecting.
