Me: "He's Jon Snow, he's a main character of every season, bastard son of Ned Stark."
Dad: "Who is Ned Stark?"
Me: "Are you serious? You've seen every episode!"
Dad: *gets mad*

I don't even.

No, he doesn't have Alzheimer's.
Introduced my parents too, they asked me for a year every week when the new season is out. Even though I told them the name of the series all the time they are just like "When does the series with the Dwarf come back?"

They literally don`t know a single name, altough they are slowly getting there. I just explain stuff in the way like "Dragonlady,Dude who got his head cut off, Dwarf, Dwarfs father,Dwarfs brother,Dwarfs sister" They can`t wait till the new season is out in german though.

This brings up something I really don't get. Tywin told Littlefinger to go marry Lysa Aron to bring her into the fold. Then everyone just seems to take it for granted that she'll be cool with it even though she's an old widow who already has a kid and wants no part of anyone. They should just make the bad man fly when Littlefinger gets there.
You forget that Petyr was a ward/grew up with the Tullys...

yeah all those names are way too hard to remember

Someone asked about the Martel's not entering the war. The reason is they currently have princess Marcella betrothed to a Lanister so there is a fragile alliance being held together. That's why Tyrion sent her there ( I think he said as much).

Someone asked about Umber? Jon went south to fight in the Riverlands afaik.

Really? They talked about the Greatjon's disappearance? Must've been season 2, right before Karstark kind of replaces him. Do you know what ep?

.
Assuming that is what you meant and thanks.

Tyrion didn't know where she was going to be sent. He was sniffing out the spy. I also thought DA was asking why the Martell's didn't get involved in Robert's war, not the current one.

Then your answer makes even less sense. Marcella and Tyrion had nothing to do with the Martell's during Robert's rebellion (Marcella wasn't even alive then).

Moreover, the Martells were involved in Robert's rebellion on the side of the Targaryians - given that Rhaegar was married to a Martell princess.

Finally, there is no reason to beleive that Tyrion did know where he was sending Marcella, he just lied to two of the three people he told to sniff out the spy.

Yeah, Tyrion knew where he was sending her. At least that's how I read it.

This is probably going to be a weird request, but this has bugged me ever since I saw it on screen originally and then again after someone brought it up earlier in this thread. Pretty clear there are a bunch of bookreaders browsing this thread, and I'm wondering if one of you would be so kind as to PM me a spoiler:

What was woman with the veil all about when she approached Jorah in Qarth and asked if he planned to engage in betrayal again? Who the hell was she and what is she a member of? Can't take it, someone help please.

First of all idiot I didn't post that, it was killa. Secondly you're wrong too. You've read the first two books, did you ask for permission to post?

Im sorry but where was it actually mentioned/confirmed that ramsey slaughtered all the ironborn at winterfell? I know he sent theons penis back to baylon in a box with a threat to kill them all, but im almost positive that nothing beyond that has been said about the issue in s3 finale or s4 opener. I think we have some undercover bookreaders hidden in our ranks here

Your user names are similar - I do apologize for confusing you.

I have not read the books. Its in the HBO extras that the Martells were allies with the Targaryans and that they kept the Martell princess in King's Landing to ensure that the Martell's stayed loyal.

It also should be pretty obvious that the Martells fought with the Targaryians. It would be a huge betrayal to not support them when a Martell is next in line to be Queen. Plus, it would also have been very odd for the Lannisters to kill the Martell woman if they had stayed neutral.

Its explicitly stated in the last episode of season three. The note that Ramsey sent to Greyjoy states that he will hunt down the remaining Iron Islanders and flay them living the way he flayed the 20 he found in Winterfell.

That's understandable I guess.....I mean mine is black and his is orange and we have totally different avatars

They took no part in the war though. The Lannisters came in and butchered them (IE what Oberynn says to Tyrion). They killed the Martell girl for what should surely be obvious reasons regardless of whether they were neutral or not.
