Does anyone know if those riders were the sellswords who abandonned Stannis earlier?
It was clearly the Bolton army. Pretty sure you could see their banners and then they showed Ramsey finishing off some of Stannis' men. The sellswords deserted - no clue why they would choose to fight Stannis (I guess Bolton could have hired them, but that seems very unlikely).

Roose probably got scouts indicating that Stannis had no horses and a much smaller force and decided to just end it before Stannis had any chance to set up fortifications.

I was too but I don't think it's just by accident that Melisandre happen into town, we already know she has an interest in him as does the Night's King.

Both use magic that can raise the dead!

Then again no one has came back that died @ the red wedding

oh and there might be one other that can raise the dead, but let's hope it's not him. [not a real spoiler]

This fits in with Tyrion's comments to Jorah and Dario about how they are unfit to be with her and she needs a real man with a big curved sword or what not

Something that dawned on me on rewatch.

Magic Boobs and Bronn scene? What was the point? We all know there are no pointless scenes in GoT.

Well, clearly that whole scene was to introduce the poison and explain it, so that during the final they could kill Myrcella and not have to explain why. Its so obvious on the second take even though we didn't see it at the time.

Because it wasn't about the physical battle. Stannis defeated himself by sacrificing everything he believed in for the promise of power and glory. Throughout season 5 he made stupid decisions:

- Left Castle Black without waiting for Jon and the wildlings to come back, which could have given him a much bigger army
- Plowed on after the storm that killed 40 horses and led to 500 sellswords going AWOL.
- Plowed on after the Boltons burned the camps, losing him more men, horses and all their food.
- Sacrificed his daughter to the LOL, resulting in half his remaining army deserting out of (presumably) disgust.

By the time he actually reached Winterfell, the battle was over. They were literally 0% to win. Why bother showing 20 more shots of dudes getting swords through the neck just for the sake of it?

I had an unsettling thought earlier for Sansa. What if this is another game like how Ramsey got theons trust by killing the guards and helping him escape only to be hunted down and tortured. Maybe the same thing is taking place with Sansa and reek throwing Ramsey's gf over the wall was part of the game. I think reek will be loyal until his death to Ramsey at this point

Havent been sadder for a season ending since S1.

I was sad to see the kennel master's daughter get killed. She was amazing.

Did anyone notice if any of the NW men that stabbed John were ones that were part of the battle north of the wall in the prior episode?

I assume not but couldn't tell

I have a stupid question. What was that flying above Daenerys' head when she was talking to the dragon @39:31?
06-15-2015 , 04:37 PM
A whole season without HODOR

So that's two for three on the Lannister incest kids getting poisoned. Odds on Tommen completing the trifecta on season six considering he's the most ******ed character on the show?

Also this season sucked, Jon's death sucks and if he gets brought back to life that will suck too, just a little bit less than if he doesnt.

Thought it could've been a dragon, but I think the other dragons are still locked up so in all likelihood it was probably just a bird.

Great finale. I remember reading awhile back before this season that they have future plans to make their season finale a 3-4 imax movie. Was this ever true?

not one "putrescence" during the entire walk of naked. such fail

Stannis' quest had a sort of Moby Dick/Ahab vibe to it. Was just sort of recklessly plowing ahead destroying everything in pursuit of his obsession.

There are plenty of pointless scenes in GoT.

Didn't see what? We know that whole family is all about the poison, and it seems like they have lots of different kinds. It made it easier to understand the antidote vial, but that scene would have worked just fine (and probably better, because once the kiss on the lips happened you knew something was up) without the set-up.

Plus it was a good Bronn character scene, established some distinction among the sand snakes, and you don't need a reason to show those tittays anyway
