I fail to see how he can appear with her anywhere in Westeros without immediately getting The Mountain hunting him down among others. That's why I didn't think he was involved. The second any word gets out what he did, he's dead. And there are spies everywhere. Since I don't thiiiiiink LF'er is suicidal I assume there's much more to unravel in this plot.

Most likely Ned would rule until Stannis got to KL and then leave for Winterfell assuming Stannis would elect a new hand. Jaime would go hiding to CR and Tywin would not dare to do anything at this point.
No, that was never in the cards for LFer. He could and did sway power to whichever direction was suitable for him but there wasn't any play where he could've seized control. The city guard isn't an army. He was playing the role of kingmaker though. I assume the city guard can hold long enough for reinforcements to arrive for whoever he helped thrust into power. Ned only offered him two choices - back Stannis (and therefore Ned) or back Joffrey. Soon as Ned shot down Renly he got out of there.

All of this kind of makes me wonder why Ned didn't secure the city guard, lol. He was the acting monarch for a while and if he wanted Stannis in power then he has to take the city first. Ned thought a piece of paper would clear everything up as opposed to boots on the ground. And he was a great soldier? Lol Ned.

S1E8 (Paraphrased)

Ned:Well, we need to put Stannis in charge.
LF:Stannis is a bum. How about you and me blackmail Joffery to be a good little puppet king or we'll put Renly in charge and bump off Stannis.
Ned:What? No, Team Stannis 4 life. Get the city guard to back me and put in a guy you clearly don't like as king.
LF:I pay them, so they'll listen. We'll do your idea and not backstab you (MWAHAHAHAHAH)

Yah he let one of his lieutenants in his mind secure the city guard and got played. Ned should've done that himself, if you're moving against the person to be named King you better ****ing have the city guard tight on your side. One does not simply leave that task to a known weasel. Lol Ned.

He betrayed Ned because he didn't want to seize the throne and wasn't on board with LF's plan.

No, LF already knew exactly what happened to Jon Arryn. He leads Ned to all the brothels to look for the bastards and gives Ned all the clues to unravel the Lannisters. He's making the two strongest opponents to him fight against each other. So he's like ok I'm Ned's friend here. I've taken him to these brothels, I've sheltered his wife (obv selfish motives), I'm now telling him how we can take the throne and we can rule together (obv LF is thinking Ned would accept). Then when Ned doesn't he betrays him in the throne room.

They explained this when LF said "and when the city is ruins who do you think they'll listen to Lord Stark?" *spinning the dagger towards himself* Ned explains he won't have the children murdered etc thus making LF's plan moot. He then has to kill Ned and have Ned out the secret as if it was made up (LF can still later reveal this too remember).

We (well I, at least) honestly have no idea what direction the show will take tonight. I guess it's what makes GoT so awesome.

Same here, just hoping the dragon queen story gets less air time as it has become repetitive.

The dragon story line just needs the dragons to get involved. Perhaps roasting some Lanisters.

yeah some people need to get to their destination this ep.

Either the dragon girl or the wildlings or at least the hound and the kid

edit: or little finger, wherever he is going

If the NBA was Game of Thrones, Steph Curry would be Khaleesi.

Whatever I'm drinking Labatt Ice.
04-27-2014 , 06:07 PM
Lebron would probably by Tywin unfortunately, with Bosh/Wade being Jamie/Cersei.

Mark Cuban would be Little Finger?

Donald Sterling would be Kraster.
04-27-2014 , 06:07 PM
Durant is Tyrion just cause he's super awesome.
04-27-2014 , 06:45 PM
Hi HBE, long time no see.

BTW, basketball thread is down the hall, 1st door on the right.
04-27-2014 , 06:46 PM
David Stern is Janos
04-27-2014 , 08:33 PM
Shaun Livingston is Beric Dondarrion

Pretty bored of the same Khaleesi scene over and over again. they all follow the exact same beats. She gets to the gate, threatens the hierarchy (that look exactly like the last city's hierarchy), mentions dragons, makes Jorah her bitch, sends in army, takes city, acts tough.
04-27-2014 , 09:44 PM
I have no clue who the guy ranting by the fire is?

Did literally anything happen this episode that advanced the plot?

So craster is single handedly responsible for the resurgence of the WWs?

Must have really loved ****ing his own daughters.

that WW scene was pretty awesome. Nothing happened in KL really. The Mereen stuff was pretty obv given the final scene of the prev ep.

Wowowow at the WW scene. So creepy.

So when did Oleanna have access to Joffrey's goblet? Do we just have to assume it happened off camera?
