The thing I love the most about the final episode is how much it's making whiners like nootka, Fly, got123, and clovis cry about a show they think is so awful that... they watched literally every single episode for 8 seasons!

Man I just remembered the bit from s7 when Bran said that he could never be Lord of anything. Guess he forgot about that, just as Dany forgot about the Iron Fleet.

Somebody needs to cut the ending of this horrid scene with some sitcom music after Davos and Bronn make the master of coin joke.

I'm just going to pretend that Drogon flew to the wreckage of Valeria to repopulate the species.
Sansa finds out being Queen of the frozen tundra gets old pretty fast.
Arya returns to the House of Black and White to make sure her dues are all paid up.
Jon and Tormund bang redheads in caves.
The 6 kingdoms return to war in about 50 years.

Is there a real chance of an Arya spin-off?

So Jon was forced to take his sword and dagger off before visiting a prisoner charged with treason (who was heavily guarded with Unsullied), but has free access to the Queen.

Add in that Jon’s already had run ins with Grey Worm and Dany has obvious reasons to fear her old group of friends / anyone with ties to the north.

What an awful ending due to **** ****ing writers.

Dexter is officially no longer the worst ending to a TV show.

Definitely the former. If he could have talked her off the whole world domination plan he probably would have just forgiven the massacre as a momentary lapse in judgement. But after their talk it was clear there was just going to be more of the same.

I think he went in there hoping to get a reason not to kill her. But that didn't happen.

That's what's so incredible about this season. Lots of writers are bad because they just aren't smart or relatable or knowledge about what they are writing about, but this season is remarkable for how often it seems like the writers don't watch Game of Thrones.

The Iron Fleet thing, the Dothraki(and, to a lesser extent, the Unsullied) all coming back to life after the battle with the Night King, Bran changing his mind about whether he wanted to be a post human guru, Tyrion forgetting that he hates Cersei, King's Landing oddly getting relocated to a desert...

These aren't Cinema Sins **** like "Ah the Sig Sauer P226 only holds 15 bullets but he fired 18 shots without reloading", this is them apparently changing their mind about their own story as they are writing it!

They also were foreshadowing... something with Arya and just dropped her plot(why did she come to KL at all?), and in a bizarre bit of something I don't think there's a word for they spent several scenes in the last 2 episodes rushing some foreshadowing that Grey Worm and Jon would come to blows... but eh that didn't happen.

I think the Arya ending may be in the books as well (or was planned to be), because it was very LOTR-y and GRRM is a huge fan.
05-20-2019 , 03:57 AM
Never in history has a series nosedived so badly at the end. At least Dexter was already on it's way to **** before the last season. HIMYM was woeful but predictably woeful.

Could go on and on about how many plot holes exist and how unbelievable disappointing it is but what's the point. Dire.

Or how Brienne's whole story is centered around protecting Sansa but then she blows that off to be in the Kingsguard.

Does anyone else feel like GRRM is saving an additional final twist or two for the books based on the show ending?

While watching the final episode, I kept expecting a reveal that Bran had been using his powers to influence events throughout the entire story (from using the Hodor power on the mad king on) in order to steer himself into the throne. Also, with all of the parallels the show was drawing between Jon and Ned (loyal to a fault, convinced to kill Dany to protect Sansa/Arya, sentenced to the night's watch, and more) I was expecting a reveal that Jon was actually Ned's son all along and that Bran had contrived R+L=J in order to drive Jon and Dany apart and Dany mad, which would be necessary for him to take the throne.

there wasnt really much else they could do. most finales suck anyway. the last 2 seasons have just been so bad.

doubt I ever watch another weiss benioff show and I would imagine a ton of GOT fans feel the same way.

Idk, I think Dexter is still #1. I’ve seen HIMYM but not every episode. How did it end ?

We meet their mother, they're together for a while, rush over them having kids then she dies and he ends up chasing after Robyn again.

I've never been so thankful that The Expanse series cranks out books regularly, and will be done long before the show can catch it. Would be pretty pissed to see a repeat of this scenario.

Glad to at least see it’s being universally trashed. Can you imagine being so weak-minded as to think that was a good ending.

So dragons can melt steel and blow down castles but were kept chained to the stone walls of a dungeon a few seasons ago?

I would have been happier if Jon found a death scene with the body parts symmetrical displayed by the WWs to bring the entire story full circle.

I felt like I was watching a ****ty SNL skit during that scene

I mean, yeah, this is true. But I think we're excluding any show that took place so long ago they talked about its awful finale on VH1 I Love the 80s.
