4) Wanted to buy a 50$ Itunes card and he told me he can pick one up for a vig of 5% and gave me some references (all via PM). I copied EXACTLY hes username from his private message and the city was correct as I transfered the money to his account. It was confirmed by Pokerstars that this transfer reached his account. However he claims I'm a scammer since I've never sent any money and he didn't receive anything.

I'll be PMing Bobo myself to resolve this issue, this guy is straight up a scam artist that tries to coax you into sending the card anyway. I could care less about $50 but I will NOT be a victim of any idiotic scam whether its $5 or $50 or more.

I know I won't ever get this Itunes Card anyway, so I'm only doing this to prevent other users of being scammed by this scumbag. I have several references on this site, either from staking as well as from another Itunes card trade where I've sent first. Will ask this guy to post here as well.

I also find it funny (aside from gunth, a reputable guy, saying Don is legit) that a guy that joined in '07 waited 3 years to unveil his master scam of 50 bucks. That coming from the guy who joined this year....

DonLigretto has reserved and paid me for shares without issue. I've never seen him to be anything other than an upright, honest guy

Actually he posted in 2 of that scammers threads. Perhaps schhhwhat could explain his relationship to the confirmed scammer.

Just got scammed by DirkReems. Had been staking him just a week & a half or so. Had not seen this post til I was about to make one of my own about him.

Sent him money to play on both PS & FTP. He never played on PS so I asked him to ship back some of the PS money I had sent at the start. Claimed at that point he had a uncleared $750 e-check that the money I sent him on PS went towards. Not sure if that is true or not after reading your post & the one after yours.

Ok to sum it up: Schhhhwhat is definitely a scammer unless he has ANY proof he didn't scam me. So far he didn't write me any PM anymore after his email which he wrote to Pokerstars (which he clearly didn't send anyway...)

His empty denial (also his only post in 3 weeks) along with your proof post should = ban.

Staked for 100NL on Full Tilt. However he suddenly vanished after being fine, in contact ect for 2 weeks. I am not sure this is a scam as I never got anything but reasons to be confident from him. But he vanished on September 26th and I have made numerous attempts to contact via email, skype, phone etc buyt have gotten nowhere.

If I hear from him again I will update, but for now please avoid.

Overdue post of people not to stake/scammers/thieves/etc.-

ZBTHorton and I have been staking for about 3 months. We have some great horses who work hard. At the same time, we've run into some real scum. I intend to maintain a list of these people and try my best to protect other backers out there. For anyone on the list, I hope you feel free to post and if you contact me privately and rectify the situation I'd be happy to post an update about it.

We began staking Jason and while his volume was low he was a decent investment. At one point he quit us (not in makeup) because he claimed his laptop broke and he would not be able to play until he saved up enough money to buy a new one. Some time later he figured things out and asked that we take him back on. We obliged. Jason played for awhile then we got an email. Here is a portion of it.

"im done. cant stand sitting here day after day getting smashed. i obv suck at poker. just play a **** ton of games last night and cashed in 1 prolly. im done playing poker online. i would actually rather blow my brains out than sit and grind these bs games. i feel bad losing ur $ but i didnt wanna just keep losing all of it. i run so badly it made me just dislike poker and im not gona blow another minute playing online poker. time to get out and get a real job."

We advised Jason that he was in $398 in makeup and if he was going to truly quit poker there wasn't anything we could do. But if he was going to continue playing either on his own or for another backer then we would expect that he either play off his MU under us, pay it back, etc.

We continued to see Jason playing poker. Since this email from him he's ignored every single email from us. Since "quitting poker" he's played 1,034 games on Stars and is +$4,090.

Jason stole $398 from our group and I'd advise anyone to avoid him at all costs.

Summary: Alex was backed for Omaha H/L cashgames. Because of the lack of tracking for these games we relied on his updates and requested screenshots of his cashier as well as his tracking software. Towards the end of our backing with him Alex began making false updates and playing higher games than he was allowed trying to chase losses. We cut him immediately upon finding these things out. We ate the makeup from the losses he incurred in the games we staked him for and asked that he re-pay the $326.35 that was lost playing stakes outside of our agreement. Alex did not seem to grasp that playing higher than allowed and being deceitful in updates was not okay. After numerous exchanges with Alex it was very clear that he was not going to attempt to pay the money back. I did tell him that despite me feeling he knew he should pay us that money back, we would not continue to pursue it. So because of that I'm not seeking restitution from him. If he'd like to pay that money back, I'd be happy to make a post saying so though. However, he should definitely go on any "Do Not Back" lists because of his deceitfulness and violation of our original backing agreement.

Hopefully I won't have many more to post, although there are two in the works at the moment. However, I'm giving these players a chance to work things out.
