Another thing is, why would you win 6k and not go to a live event somewhere around the world? Doesn't make sense. Only way I'd ever want to take cash is like a 15k score for PCA if you weren't a mid/high stakes grinder (if you could take cash instead of seat for example). Not having a passport would keep me from playing these things anyway.

Getting a passport can be done in an expedited process. Taking a picture is fairly quick and will take <30 minutes. You may not need a guarantor signature anymore. Go to Passport office, pay express rate and choose option to pick up passport in person.

I ran into this same situation a couple days ago. Just kinda grinded the 3x turbo's cuz I liked them and didn't realize that if you ship the seat's a must play (obv should've known, I just got the wrong idea from people talking about $W and satty/steps grinders and stuff). Anyways, you either have to play or forfeit, so looks like I'm off to sydney, loll.

With minimal searching I was able to find flights for $1300 and you just have to drive to Atlanta to do it.

FWIW I live in Canada. I found flights ranging from $1700-$2200CDN for my return flight to Auckland. Stars gave me $1750USD which obvs covered it.

I have friends who got their PCA seats turned into W$ and Auckland seats as well.

Just the truth sorry.

1. It is not the truth--the seat is not "100% transferable." As you implied in your post and others in the thread have indicated, you have to pull strings/request favors or offer persuasive arguments to the Powers That Be in order to have a seat transferred.

2. It's obvious that Stars does not want players transferring seats, so I'm sure the "Stars rep you work with" to get these favors doesn't appreciate you flaunting the fact that you have gotten favors in the past.

3. If you really just want to help this guy, why didn't you just PM him in the first place instead of saying in public "PM me and will help ya?" Did you just want to look cool and insider-y on a message board?

I'm going, but I do understand where the OP is coming from (2+2 can be a tad cynical sometimes). The seat itself is worth 94,000+6,000 PHP. As the Philippine Peso continues to slide, 94000 PHP is currently worth $1975 USD. Even with the hotel covered (and I hear the Shangri La is really nice btw), it is not hard to imagine that you'll actually pay more than the seat is worth just to get there between flights, taxi, dining out, layover, etc.

By the way, does anyone know if the recent typhoons will cause any trouble for this tournament? Several of the flights that were running through Manila are now not offered. Hopefully there aren't any more on the horizon!
