Hello, last nite i was playin a live tournament $15 unlimited rebuys for the first two hours.

My hand was 10 5 i was in the button and it was 8 players at the table. two players limp so i limped too on the button, then the big blind rise to 2BB (yes, a min raise with 4 players still on the hand) everybody call and the flop went

My cards: 10 5
Flop: Q J 9

the UTG position raise to about 9.5BB (about 50% of my stack) (and this is my question, what is the correct move i should do here?) i called the raise, and the SB did too

The turn went 9 everybody checks and the river was 3 the two players check and it was my turn, i was thinking the move of go allin but at the end i check and the UTG guy wins the hand with a pair of queens (!)

i think i play so badly this hand, any comments please?

Fold pre flop.

T5 doesn't play well in any situation.

Fold pre. If you're playing this just because you're on the button, you should only do that with a large stack. You didn't have a large stack so splashing around with junk isn't a good move even if in position.

Also, on the flop, you say he raised. I'm assuming you meant he bet. If calling his bet costs you 50% of your stack, your only options are to shove or fold. Calling is the worst thing you can do. So if you don't shove pre and find yourself in this situation, you need to decide if you're willing to gamble your stack on an open-ender or not. Shoving on the river wouldn't have won the hand. The queens guy would have called because he had the odds and you would be out. Again, should fold pre and avoid this whole mess.

Yes, fold preflop was the correct move. I call because i was on the mood for gamble and it was a rebuy tourney so i though what the heck... and called, but my post flop game really sucks on that hand!

thanks for your answers.

Yup, and you should consider the gap concept when making calls even with position.

It`s an easy fold if you consider his range pre, and continuation OTF.

What about shove on the turn guys? Everyone checks, what if I shove? Got open ended, pretending to have a 9T or something like that

Fold pre-flop. Even when it's costing you 1bb (or 2bb in the end), 10 5 does not flop well and the other limping opponents have a dominating range over you.

On the flop you've either got to re-raise all-in or fold. The call is the worst possible move with your stack size as the villain c-bets a lot of the time and you're almost never getting to see the river.
