What determines if I should play "early game poker" or "late game poker"?

As far I as understand it, it is only my and my opponents stacks compared to the blinds. And the bubble factor. Is that all there is to it?

Recommend you search this, as it's probably somewhere in the many posts on STTF. Or pick up a copy of SNG Strategy by Moshman and read the portion on transitioning from early "tight" play to slowly becoming more aggressive once the blinds increase and then becoming damn near ruthless (shove/fold) on the bubble.

You play to maximize your tournament equity, no matter whether it's early or late.

What is "early" and "late" game poker anyway?!?

I don't really understand the question, but you should become progressively looser as the blinds increase and the stacks shorten.
