So with 20 minute levels in Mini Main does that mean it ends earlier on Day 1?

No, it will end at the same time as the WCOOP Main Event (roughly).

Makes sense I guess - can't do it though (potentially finish 2 hrs before I have to wake up)

Next time!

Quick note about Event 70, the $21,000 PLO-6 High-Roller, as some have been asking in PMs, on Skype, via Twitter, via telepathy, by astral projection (that's creepy, btw... I'm sitting here at my desk and a ghostly image of some player just shows up in my office... really scared my Office Assistant Cat, too), smoke signals, etc....

A limited number of satellites (w/o guarantees) have just been set up, as follows:

Round 4 to Event - 12:30 ET: $2,100 Deep Turbo, 60 minutes late registration

Turbo Path:
  • Round 3 - 11:15 ET: $530, 30 minutes late registration
  • Round 2 - 10:00 ET: $109, 30 minutes late registration
  • Round 1 - 08:45 ET: $22, 30 minutes late registration
  • Round 1 - 07:45 ET: $22, 30 minutes late registration
  • Round 1 - 06:45 ET: $22, 30 minutes late registration

Hyper-Turbo Path:
  • Round 3 - 12:20 ET: $525, 6 minutes late registration
  • Round 2 - 11:50 ET: $105, 6 minutes late registration
  • Round 1 - 11:25 ET: $21, 6 minutes late registration
  • Round 1 - 11:00 ET: $21, 6 minutes late registration
  • Round 1 - 10:30 ET: $21, 6 minutes late registration
  • Round 1 - 09:30 ET: $21, 6 minutes late registration

Enjoy, and good luck.

Please launch some sats for 2k horse and 10k 8-game.
I understand its tougher to have good one for 10k but at least for 2k you could have added anything prior to the event day.

Satellites for the $2K HORSE will be available tomorrow, though they will be limited, as they simply don't run for the most part.

As for the $10K Eight-Game, there will likely only be one or two satellites... at the most, four. This is really the sort of Event tailored to those who can afford it, as has been borne out many times over the years.

In looking at multiple scenarios, comparing the likely size of the Mini-WCOOP Main Event and its structure to versions of the Mini-WCOOP Thrill Special Edition, the Mini-WCOOP Million Special Edition, etc... it seems likely that leaving 30-minute levels on the Mini-WCOOP Main Event will lead to an Event which is simply too long. The structure is extraordinarily generous in the amount of play it provides, and 30-minute levels seem to be anathema to a tournament in the tens of thousands of players running at a good pace once the number of players dwindles down to the hundreds and dozens. I don't want a repeat of either the Marathon or Mini-WCOOP-16, Events during which we were required to make changes on-the-fly to account for the fact that the Events were running too long.

So, the practical upshot of this is that the Mini-WCOOP Main Event is likely to have a different structure, time-wise, to the WCOOP Main Event, and that the level times will indeed cap at 20-minute levels. Having said that, in looking at the structure, it's quite clear that there will still be an incredible amount of play and that the late registration time will still be six hours. The structure is very, very deep.

I can understand the reasoning here (although I would prefer for it to remain unchanged structure-wise and rather play out over four days). Could you at least make it so that it goes to 30 min levels at FT/final 18/final 27? I think that would be much appreciated by most.

Maybe we will experience same problems with this mini-ME as we did with SCOOP? Max entrants capped and impossible to re-enter?

The Mini-WCOOP Main Event has a hard cap of 40,000 entrants due to the maximum number of chips which can be in play in any one tournament (2 Billion). No such problems were encountered in SCOOP. The old issue which was encountered a few times in SCOOP 2016 and once in Event 01 of WCOOP 2016 (in Day 1Z) has been solved once and for all.

Divide everything by 10 and set max entrants to 400,000?

It's too late to change the Mini-WCOOP Main Event, I'm 99.99% sure... but I am checking into it.

one seat per every $5000 in the prize pool
should be for every $50

Yeah I would think the latest phase 1 should at least start at the same timeslot as the day 2 does.

I'm not saying that anything is going to change, but I will tell you that I've been giving it some thought even before reading the posts here tonight.

It won't be an issue. Trust me. There's a reason I'm online at o'dark thirty. I need to work on the Mini-WCOOP Main Event while most of the players registered to it are not logged in. You'll see.

The following additions and changes have been / are being made:
  • Added Day 1s - WCOOP & Mini-WCOOP
    • 11:00 ET - Day 1AA
    • 15:00 ET - Day 1AB
    • 18:00 ET - Day 1AC - FINAL DAY 1
  • Expanded Mini-WCOOP Event 72 to a Maximum of 150,000 Players
  • Expanded the Mini-WCOOP Main Event to a Maximum of 100,000 Players (in progress)
    • This will take a bit of time to complete due to a technical issue regarding the number of chips in the starting stack and our ability to change a tournament once a certain number of players have registered. We can't change the starting stack, which we need to do in order to open the Event up to more players, with more than 200 players registered.
      • So, while most players registered to the Event are offline, I'll be removing enough players to get below 200, then making the needed changes to the Mini-WCOOP Main Event, then re-registering those players.
      • If you happen to notice yourself un-registered from the Mini-WCOOP Main Event early this morning, don't worry, you'll be re-registered shortly. Once I've identified the list of players I'll be removing, I'm going to send them a quick email to let them know what's going on, in any case.
    • The new starting stack will be 20,000 chips. The blinds, relative to the starting stack, will remain identical to those in the WCOOP Main Event in terms of size. Each current value has been divided by 2.5 in the new structure.
    • This somewhat complex solution is required because we can't have more than 2,000,000,000 chips in play in any one tournament.
