Utg late on sng play 3-5$? Utg late on sng play 3-5$?

Keep having dilemmas when late in a 9 man sng turbo. Say about 7 people left, average stack 10 bb. When I get dealt things like kq suited, aj I don't know what the right play is. I don't want to call, I don't want to raise cos someone will likely shove and they are too good to fold. If I raise 3bb then you have about 1/3 to 1/2 your stack in the middle... Best play to just fold these hands in early position???? Shoving just allows only better hands to call...

Thanks.

- position
- position of opponent
***** playable hands
- players
- chips
- player ranges!

probably yeh, hands like kjo, qt, kt, are much likely to be folded with >10bb late stages with 1 raiser and a couple of players to act

Extremely situation dependent. Read the FAQs and post some specific hands/situations on here so other forum members can comment. A program like SNGWiz is very helpful for this as well, to which the FAQ has excellent information/links.

Generally, if you're waiting to shove with premium hands only in SNGs you are being too tight.

Preflop is easily solved for, you need to get sitngo wizard, holdemresources or another tool and calculate all-in ranges. KQs, AJo etc with 10bb is usually an easy open shove preflop you should never just raise/fold or raise/call 10bb or less.
