still think your tournaments are awesome mid/end game play was pretty deep

but why would a little bit more chips make a structure worse?

I have to get you guys from believing more chips make for a better tournament experience

Structures come down to 4 variables IMO and chips are 3rd out of 4th

1. Levels
2. Time
3. Chips
4. Player ability

I can make a tournament with 1,000 in chips last 5 days and a tournament with 1,000,000 in chips last one hour.

Mike I have a couple of ideas, some of which are easy and some of which I know are almost impossible but throwing them out there. I told them to you earlier but expanding here for clarity.

Please have fewer chips, that would be great, I honestly think the old structure of 2500 with a 50-75 and 100-200, 100-200-25 level would be sick (also 1200-2400 ldo) for all of the prelims. I think there should be variable level lengths for the events, maybe like 30 mins for 200s/300s, 40 mins for 400s/500s and 50/60 mins for the main or 1k prelims.

A 6 max or HU tournament (or both ideally) in Jan would be awesome, you may as well do this at 1kish because I doubt many locals will play those formats anyway.

Pleassse anything but Holdem, I don't think theres been anything but hold em at TS in like 4 years and that should change. Mixed games and at least PLO would differentiate this from most small tourney series locations and drum up a lot of interest, like definitely a PLO, horse would be cool. Things like that could bring in people who wouldn't otherwise play and they might play all of them.

The satelite system is pretty bad, giving away seats has helped but pushing STTs or a steps/act system like foxwoods might be able to make a 3k/5k work which could be pretty sick. Having a tiered satelite system to must play seats could make big events viable again, big events bring in more players, more players will play prelims, it works from the top down.

Mike make the tournies structure somehow so less internet players make the final table. I hate playing the final two tables of these live tournaments with all internet regs.

The best will obv make the FT's more often, so changing the structure wont do too much. My structure ideas in a previous thread were perfect imo. Made it faster in the beginning and slower towards the end while still keeping the tourney in the same time frame.

just a fwiw i profited like $1,500 on the trip after way to much in food/room/etc costs and taxes were taken out. Also like like 5-6 buyins in the $500 game. That, plus I only had 45%.

But yea, still lost wayyyy too much being a degen.

This would be my proposed series with structures:

Mon Event 1: $300+x Deepstack Turbo NLH (20k chips 20 min levels)

Tues Event 2: $300+x NLH (5k chips 40 min levels)

Wed Event 3: $400+x NLH 6max (6k chips 40 min levels)

Thurs Event 4: $200+x + 1 rebuy + 1 addon NLH (Or $500+x NLH if 1r1a cant be done). (2.5k chips + 2.5k chips + 3k chips 40 min levels)

Fri Event 5: $700+x NLH - 6 max for final 30 players. (10k chips 45 min levels)

Sat Event 6: $1000+x (or $1500) 6max NLH or same as friday's if you think it will draw more appeal (15k chips 50 min levels)

Structure:

25/50, 50/100, 75/150 :BREAK: 100/200/25, 150/300/25, 200/400/50 :BREAK: 300/600/75, 400/800/100, 500/1000/100 :BREAK: 600/1200/100, 700/1400/200, 800/1600/200 :BREAK: 1000/2000/200, 1200/2400/300, 1500/3000/400 :BREAK: 1700/3400/400, 2000/4000/500, 2500/5000/500 :BREAK: etc...

I mean those were just my thoughts, I created that structure 5 months ago. Definitely didn't steal anything from you and dont think I've played a tournament directed by you. Sorry either way though, definitely did not mean to take any ideas from you.

EDIT: The 6max from final 30 players might have been your idea? Forgot where I remember seeing that, but it may have been something from you.
