Maybe Stars do have info, but not on the link you just offered......

As these are a new format and there won't be anything else about them on the forums yet, I guess it'll be worth having this thread around for a bit for some basic strat discussion. Feel free to post hands itt, but obviously you can still also post them in their own thread just like any other hand too, as long as the format is clearly indicated.

Without the attraction of a big score, I personally can't think why anyone would want to grind them, and the rake in them looks horribly high for the format as well imo.

I think they're mainly aimed at people who fancy a low risk, low reward, low variance life, and think that this game will fulfil that desire. However, some of them will be disappointed; the structures mean that the game pretty much starts in push-fold mode, so fish will have to play a game that they usually suck at. I expect they'll do the usual and spew a bit early on when still trying to limp and see cheap flops to "play some poker", then they'll be too nitty once they realise that they only have a few big blinds left and they'll be waiting for a good hand so that they can moan about their bad beat when they get their 3.5bb stack in the middle.

Basically I think these are going to be like a weird cross between MTTs and SNGs, but not in the same way as 180s are. Probably they're more like Fifty50s in that there is at least some element of survival involved.

i never have and never will play a tournament of this type

I refuse to play them because I suck at flips

Played like 20 of these and they're super soft and good for bankroll building imo. Alot of people who play are shoving way wider than they should be with 20-25bbs. Yesterday they ran like 12 in a row at micros with buyins between 1.10 and 3.30 and I profited like $70 which is semi decent I guess.
