I wanted to get some thoughts on players being allowed to rebuy a full time bank for the tournament simply by paying the rake to the tournament in full once again. The concept seems simple enough but I am sure I am over looking dynamics such as bubble tanking, play approaching the final table play etc. Perhaps you would only be given this option the first X amount of minutes. Please do not respond by saying you get additional time bank as the tournament progresses, I am aware of this fact.
For any number of reasons, I see to many players having their time banks burned unintentionally. Many times on trivial preflop spots where it is clear they aren't actually tanking or making a decision. Playing with no time bank can be a grueling process, especially when multi tabling. It is my belief you shouldn't have to pay for one silly mishap.

This may not be the greatest idea but it seemed worth discussing.

Terrible idea. Essentially you get an adventage over other players who are not reimbursed for you getting this advantage. Especially towards the bubble this can be of tremendous importance, at least for mid-hihg stakes.

I do believe the timebank issue (@stars) needs to be looked into and improved, but buying time for money that does not go into the pricepool cannot be the solution in my opinion...

Yeah with random on this one, do banks need to be looked at, yes for sure.

People rebuying effectively buying time too, not a fan.

is resetting timebanks a workable idea?

so when you start you 1 min. timebank, instead of adding seconds to it after each hour. Just reset it to 1 min. after an hour.

You could even look into resetting to a higher amount when you're deeper, after like 5 or 6 hours?

I should of made it more clear, I chose the rake amount as an arbitrary amount to add to the prize pool when rebuying your timebank

Can you imagine a super short stack 20 from the money. Im guessing but its prob +ev for him to use this feature a few times. Totally unworkable imo.

such a horrible idea. they get enough money as it is. but like others have said timebank is a big issue that needs to be dealt with
