Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL has been garnering massive fields for its Event 1 tournaments lately, with something like 8 opening flights, record fields nearing 5000 entries, and prize pools over $1m.
In this $360 500k, when you bag multiple flights you win $2500 for each subsequent bag, best stack forward. In this tournament when you bag you are automatically in the money.
We are nearing the end of one of the final opening flights, meaning a handful of players are probably looking to bag but it's tough to know who's who. I have personally not bagged yet but am a reg at this casino.
Blinds were just 1000/2000-200 and have suddenly catapulted to 1500/3000-500. At the same time our table has gone somewhat short, at 7 handed, due to me busting two players in the last 5 minutes. With about 100k at the moment, I have more chips than I've been seen with at this table. I believe I have a tight/solid image.
A good young reg across from us has been picking things up lately moving at pots since the blinds went up. I've been staying out of his way. I believe he is aware that he needs to continue to chip up, despite him covering the table at about 120k. The next largest stack is probably around 80k.
One thing I've noticed in these fields at this stage is a lot of players overvaluing their "large" stack. Hence not too many deep stacks here. If I haven't made it clear, I do not believe villain is one of these people, and pretty sure he feels the same about me.
We open UTG to 8k with A
