I will be playing in a tourney next week where the players (2 to a team) alternate each round. It is an interesting format and I was wondering if anyone has experience in dealing with this type of tournament and if there were any specific strategies we should consider.

The tournament has a good blind structure and 45 min levels, so we should get plenty of play for our $550 entry fee. We both have cashed several times at tournaments such as the Beligio daily and the Orleans Open so we should match up well against our competition.

This just seemed like a fun change of pace and I wanted to see if there was any information about this type of tourney.

Thanks,

Birddog

Make sure your partner understands basic tournament strategy (even just stuff from Harrington 1) or you may find yourself sitting down to 2 BBs near the money bubble (personal experience with a Jack and Jill tourney).

for you:
play 8h, get druck 8h, sleep 8h, repeat
for your buddy:
let him study your game, let him do research for each player on table, tell him to pick on physical reads, let him bring you drinks&food for 8h, play 8h, sleep 8h, repeat
