I feel more and more like I should be folding AK UTG at the beginning of these Sup Turbos(when no one has been knocked out and blinds are low). The only likely callers when I shove AK UTG are AQ+ and Pocket pairs.

This leaves me beating ONE hand (AQ), *hopefully* splitting a pot with AK, unless its suited and they grab it from me with a flush(which just happened btw :-/), and then coin flipping against PPs that probably are slightly ahead of me anyway.

Sure, I play low stakes where people seem to call wider, but this still seems to hold true alot of the time.

Also, taking the blinds is good when you only have 10bbs.

1. in the low stakes supturbos (3,75$/7,50$) ppl will call ur open shove with worse than AQ and PP´s

2. Its a supturbo, u cant avoid playin a flip for ur "whole" stack

If you are playing in games so tough where most people are only calling AQ+ from an UTG shove then no one is going to beat the rake and you need to look more into game selection. Any stakes below the 70s almost never require game selection, which means there are enough bad players to make AK a more than profitable raise. Also, even if you 'accidently' sign up for a game where the very best of the very best super turbo players are there, you should still shove AK. Why? Because if they are only calling hands that AK can beat, then there is such a small percent chance that they are calling that you'll take down an uncontested pot enough to generate a positive expectancy.

I only came into this thread cos I was like 'wats a sup turbo'? I think writing er would make it far too long a word so I like the abbreviation.

Only played very few super turbos but I am very rarely folding (ie not shoving) AK and possibly AQs either...
