Strange MTT hand... Strange MTT hand...

Strange hand from a mtt I'm playing...
Blinds are 240/120 w/ 25 ante.
9 handed, NL.

I'm on the CO with AK

Action folds around to the player on my right (LP). He min-raises. I call, BB calls.
Both players have me covered.
Flop is 6-Q-A
BB checks, LP bets pot, I call, BB folds.
Turn is 8
LP shoves, and I tank... then fold.

LP had been playing quite tight and had not yet open min-raised. The button was super short and if he called the min-raise pre-flop would have been all-in. I decided to take the flop in position with little chance of a re-raise. And I loved my relative position in the case of a re-raise from the SB or BB. I feel I could have made a good decision then without having put many chips in the pot pre-flop.

Having only min-raised pre-flop, I had a hard time putting LP on a hand when he bet pot on the flop. I wanted to see what he would do on the turn and was confident BB was mucking... so I made the call. When he shoves the river I'm lost.

Jebus...they let anyone be green these days huh?

Yes, this is indeed a strange hand...but not for the reason you think...this whole thing is pure spew.

Also, if you have 8k and bb has 7k, how do both players have you covered? Is this some sort of elaborate cross-forum level?

Good title too..."strange MTT hand"...very descriptive.

Why not just copy and paste the HH in to the converter?

You're a freaking mod for god's sake!!!

I agree 100%. But no one has any feedback on if I was ahead or not when I folded?

I think the strangest part of this whole thread is the fact the OP is a mod.

So this thread is serious? I have no problem trying to give my opinion if I know someone needs input but this smells fishier then a drunk girl at toga party.

thing is...I would tend to agree with you that it is a silly question if the guy posted here regularly...it may be hard to believe but there are a few people on the site who are not regular donkament players and they deserve some leeway

Much easier to comment if you use the actual HH and convert it. I don't think the whole thing is spew, just the fold. I usually raise pre with these stacks though I don't hate a flat. Buy in amount can also be important info, though I'd basically never fold if the tournament falls into SSMTT.

as played folding is pretty bad, the only hand that beats you is AQ and there are weaker aces in his range too

At some point you should be betting the hand. If you let him do it for you then call.

That's the price you pay for getting cute, sometimes worse hands get aggressive against your passive line and it looks like trips, and sometimes it is trips.

HH, buy-in, type of tourney, are all important.
