Why not betting the turn? I guess villain calls your river bet a lot because you check turn, and you only river the flush 20%..

Betting the turn is soooo spewy. I assume when you guys want to bet the turn, you also want to bet the river? Now what hand that we beat is going to call a flop, turn AND river bet? (assuming we miss our hand)

I would check the turn for the following reasons:

-Pot control.
-We don't want to be check raised off our pair and flush draw.
-Ace rag is not folding.
-To induce river bluffs from him.

Well played, ssync.

We did raise from UTG so I would imagine this guy gives us some credit so i would think he would check an ace/no kicker twice just wanting to get his hand to showdown as cheap as possible....
