Both of these villians were two of the better players at the table. I wanted to fold at first, but what about all the dead $ in the pot? I don't know, this is borderline imo.The structure of these tournaments are decent but not the best.fwiw this is the 2nd or 3rd time ss villian shoved, sort of big open shove but not just crazy or anything.

If you say they were decent players (UTG+2 can't be good open shoving 21BB though) then you're probably against JJ (UTG+2, cuz ppl hate playing postflop with it) and AK (isolater). If they were total donks then I'd call, but my guess is JJ and another AK here so I fold.

He wasn't that bad of a player imo. In lower stakes people do stupid things pre flop, and post you have almost no clue what their range is. I actually open shove sometimes with a 20 bb stack, as a matter of fact there was a huge station at the table(pre and post) who probably would have called if not for the 3 bet ship.I had 50bbs at that moment, what is your cutoff stack. I mean at what stack size do you say well, this is probably a bad ICM decision to call if off with AK?

With reads that UTG+2 is semi-competent, I would guess he has AQ-AK and doesn't wanna play postflop with an awkward stack.

MP1's range is TT+ AK for sure.

You have 26% equity vs these 2 ranges. Check your pot odds but I do believe its a -EV call.

because it makes the pot bigger therefore giving more compelling pot odds.

As well as showing he's stupid for open shoving 40+BB and therefore has more worse hands in his range.

Also, even if MP1 somehow had AQo+,AQs+ in his range as well, that gives you 32% equity and you're still not getting 3:1 on the call (this is still assuming open shover doesn't have a pair in his range, which I think he does). So at the very best you have 32% equity with 2550 to call for a 4k pot. Not even 2:1

I was very worried about this. I thought he had that exact same range.I'll chalk this up to a mistake.
