What about river?

Looking at the way the hand played out, I think the only hands you can be concerned with is QQ, AQ, AK, with the QQ being probable as MP1 would be holding the case A. I'm not worried about 44 because a player in MP might just call to see a flop cheaply

You can justify not calling the river, you are not even getting 2-1 on your money, but with your hand, I might have made a big bet on the turn, I might have been able to force a pair of Q's out before the flop.

If I get re-raised on my turn bet, I can put MP1 on AK, AQ, A10 or maybe even 44, but at least I have a better idea of where I am at in the hand. I think your checks gave MP1 control of the hand and it allowed him to possibly bluff at the pot.

all the more reason to not limp call hands like AJ OOP...

if you don't want to play a big pot with 3 aces J kicker then why would you ever call pre?

FWIW I open fold AJ a lot here from EP but limp/call is the nut worse line pre

as played if we c/r the flop and he shoves I call unhappily but call just the same

x2 open limping is bad, wanting a small pot is bad

you are being way too passive here, it is very unlikely he has the 4th ace and a better kicker and if he does its a cooler. as played im calling river but you need to be getting as many chips into that pot as you can especially that early in the tournament. you have a premium hand and are being way too passive with it. im not saying shoving any AJ is good, but this hand def PFR and definately get as many chips in that pot.
