$11 party satellite into $55 satellite for dtd200 tourney.

50 places get entry into next step. 102 players left.

Hero around 50th. Blinds 1500/3000.

Utg shoves 10k
Utg+1 flats and has me covered
Hero utg +2 AdJd. ( 55k ) hero flats ( questionable possible mistake)

Pot ( 39500)
Flop 822dd
Utg+ 2 leads 9k

Comments on pre also please. I play cash games but thought I'd try and spin up a free ticket

That is a tough spot and especially since its a satellite I am not too sure what the right approach would be here, but I look forward to seeing someone with abit more knowledge answer your question.

However, if you get a ticket, goodluck! DTD is my local(ish) casino, I won a ticket to play the DTD200 a few months back and will be using it in the next month or two. Maybe see you up there

Thanks felt like it was marginal at time , now I can see flat pre was a clear mistake. I did shove flop. should we have a flatting range pre off these stack sizes from these positions?

No, with just under 20bb you shouldn't be flatting anything. You could actually go for a squeeze shove in that spot. It's possible the caller has a big hand and is hoping someone shoves, but more likely he just wants to see a flop with a middle pp. You're still 50 spots away from the satty bubble and taking down a decent pot here can really help you ease into a ticket. You'll never be far behind if he decides to call (he's not likely flatting AQ/AK or AA/KK there).

I like this most. You are likely flipping with the 10k as extra profit. You wont make it to 50th without more chips.

Hope you made it!

Fold or Jam, if utg+2 been flatting weak hands and not nutted hands then easy jam with 10k dead money.

I don't think I like the phrase "easy jam" here. Nobody has discussed what the UTG shoving range could be. I'm not about to argue that we aren't ahead of that range, but given that UTG shoved AND somebody already called, it could significantly decrease our equity in this spot.

I wouldn't be flatting, though. I think this is either a fold (if you determine that given two ranges, you're too likely not getting enough equity) or a shove (if it is likely we could be flipping with dead money).

Given that we made it to the flop, I don't think I like the shove. What do we have fold equity against? I suppose a handful of people are going to try to make the argument that we don't need fold equity when we have 50%, and that might be true... but perhaps we should at least consider a call. We need to get 3:1 to call for only one street given our hand, and we are getting better than that. Much better. So it's a goofy spot, for sure, but since this is the spot we now find ourselves in, it's worth considering all possibilities.
