What are the most prevalent factors when determining how big your sample should be that your stats reflect your true expectation?

Obviously the buyin of the tournament is one of them, field size as well?

anything else I should be considering?

Thanks.

Prolly better posted in poker theory? You need true stat guys/mathematicians to answer this question with certainty as it involves calculation of confidence intervals. I would think 1000 would be an OK sub-sample but I am not an expert mathematician.

PAYOUT STRUCTURE is a big one you forgot.

Not all tournaments pay out equally.

That said, you will probably never know your true ROI.
1000 games is not enough OBV.
