Blinds $100/$200

Turn: p1 Bets $1,500, p2 calls.

River: p1 says "2" and puts in $2,000 (not allin). Almost immediately, p2 tosses in $200 and p1 tables his hand.

It is a little unclear if the $200 went in before the $2,000, because it all happened in less than 2 seconds.

Floor is called and rules that p2 must complete to $2,000.

A few things to note:

- Except for p1 saying "2", there was no other verbal action.
- In this (and most casinos) throwing in 1 chip to an allin is ruled a call.
- p1 argued that because the turn bet was $1,500, his saying "2" clearly meant $2,000 (which the floor agreed with, I don't).

Opinions?

I the casino I play in if the player verbally said "2" before putting chips in the middle, that would be taken as $200. If the verbal bet was made at the same time or after the chips go in then the $2000 would stand.

In my local casino it would be 200

If player 1 says something ambiguous and then throws out chips, shouldn't it be player 2's responsibility to clarify the bet amount? He made an assumption and threw in chips too quickly.

The action on the earlier street is irrelevant. Player 1 said "2" and then bet 2000, so the action eliminates any ambiguity in his statement. It's player 2's fault for making an assumption and acting too quickly.

At my casino u are forced to bet the minimum. The exact same thing happened to me once. I said 5 and through a 5k chip in something like a 10k pot, but because bb was 500 i had to bet 500. The dealer said it would be different if bb was like 600 at the time. Pretty stupid ruling.

It's not a stupid ruling, it's to avoid angle shooting in the same way as string bets are not allowed
