I woke up very sad today after hearing the news about Paresh.
I never had the opportunity to meet him but after reading the few chat logs posted on here he seemed to be a very smart, genuine, and humorous person who expressed a passion and love for the game. Our hearts are with your friends and family and we will always remember you when we grind Paresh.

Didn't know him since I'm pretty much a 'newbie' here, but it's always sad to lose someone - especially so young and so tragically.

Played 1000's of SNGS w/ Paresh Jain. Thank you guys for sharing stories about Paresh. It's no wonder he had a colorful sense of humor. I always wanted to know who DANA GORDON was that had DG as his image. It sounds like it would've been a pleasure to have known you.

While I did not play against him as often as some I had him on my search list when I wanted to rail. Watching him made me appreciate that you can play poker well out of the established 2+2 conventions. At first I was like wtf is he doing and then I was like I have no idea how I would react if I was playing against him. Same with reading his posts. Hate to see this kind of %^& ever.

Haven't posted on here in a couple months it seems (thanks black friday!) but I'd like to add my own thoughts even though they aren't nearly as meaningful as the people who knew him IRL.

I didn't know Paresh personally, but he and I (like many others that have posted in this thread) had quite a few AIM convo's and would shoot the **** about poker on random days fairly often, and he would send me some of the most absurd HH's I had ever seen of him just absolutely soul-crushing someone. He could get pretty much ANY PLAYER (including myself a handful of times) out of their element and to essentially just donate in so many spots. I also asked for his opinion on a couple hands every now and then (not expecting much of a response, as I would just copy+paste these to other people on my buddy list if it was really irking me), and he would gladly give his opinion at the drop of a hat if he wasn't busy, and he barely knew me. Just an all-around fun-loving, helpful, happy guy from what I could tell.

He was also, like many have stated, the most entertaining poster in HSMTT. Clicking HSMTT when bored and seeing a barrage of Dana Gordon responses on 10 straight threads would brighten the next 10 minutes of my life, for sure. It sounds like in several different ways he had a positive effect on many people.

On Sunday's when I had like 3-4 tests early the next week and couldn't log a massive session, I would legitimately be on campus studying but would occasionally have a 5-6 of his deep-ish tables up for pure entertainment (and academic) value and I would glance back every now and then just to see the incredible style he employed and absurd amount of pressure he put on people.

I would pay more money than I'd like to admit to see some HH's of Paresh and jymaster/gboro/taypaur/moorman/dipthrong/many others I can't think of. I was on the lower spectrum of HSMTT and higher spectrum of MSMTT, so I still got to battle with him a fair amount as well. He made the tables so much more entertaining/intense, and I ALWAYS knew I had to put extra focus when I was at his table. That focus never really prevented him from owning me in so many spots!

I barely knew Paresh other than from his poker game and the occasional AIM exchanges or random FB stuff, but he definitely had a positive effect on me and kept me inspired to help others and live life to the fullest.

My condolences, prayers, and thoughts to his family and friends. RIP Paresh, you made the world a much better place and you will be missed.

RIP Paresh, I always knew him as a beast before I joined 2+2, and then to see how entertaining and intelligent he was. I remember always being interested in purchasing his MP action but I couldn't due to BR concerns, thus giving me motivation to build my roll. He sure seems like someone that greatly bettered lives around him and will be greatly missed. Many condolences to his family and friends.

I met Paresh at the online tables and IRL during WSOP 2010. Over the last year we spent a lot of time talking about poker and other random stuff. I learned a lot from Paresh - about poker and many things outside of poker.

I always admired and appreciated his fun and positive attitude to everything pretty much.

Still can't believe this is real.

wow, really sad news . I am frequently catching myself using the "2222/call" lingo while talking strat with my low/microstakes-friends , whereas not knowing he was the originator of it,,,
