Question about MTTs on Tilt Question about MTTs on Tilt

I have just crossed over in the last 3 months to playing MTTs online. I used to be a 20-40 grinder live at the local casino but the action has been bad. I've been having good success and I've been cashing a lot in the tournaments under the $20 level on tilt.

My question is when should I start taking a step up in levels.... I'm sure I could start taking shots at a lot of tournaments under $100 buy in on tilt.... Anyone that's climbed the ladder want to offer some advice for how deep my bankroll should be etc etc.

I find I play best when in the early stages of tournaments I flight up to 10 tables at once so I don't get over active in the early stages in tournaments for whatever reason I find I do better this way... Makes me play more ABC until the blinds get large enough to matter... If it wasn't for this I'd probably buy in to just a few larger buy in tournaments a day....

Also I know this is a flaw but when I buy into a larger tournament (anything over 22+2) i get emotinoally attached to the result... IE when I take a bad beat or when I make a bad play I get frustrated and usually have to shut it down for the day....

Also are there certain times of the day that are 'better'. I'm on west coast time so I know durring the day there are larger fields but I find I do better at night when a lot of the Euros are online and my ITM rate is higher cause of smaller fields....

I know this has been long and vague but anyone thats been through something similar that can offer positive usefully advice I'd love to hear.

Sn tilt: Iamanooblet If you want to OPR my recent history and see the tournaments I've been playing on average... Thank you -Andrew

i have about 5k on tilt, I dont play anything over a $50 buyin, except for some FTOPS events. I think 100ish BI is safe, depending on the pool size of tournies you're playing as well.

K cool. Thanx for the advice. Do you find a certain time of the day better to play than others? -Andrew

Stick to the 100BI rule in the sense that the average tourney BI is 1% of your bankroll. This can enable you to stretch your bankroll OCCASIONALLY. Don't play in tourneys more than 5% your bankroll though.

I play based on my schedule but I'd say these are the best days to play in order of best to worst:

Sunday, Saturday, Friday, Thursday, Wednesday and Mon/Tues are the same to me. I always play at night, thats when the best guaranteed tournaments are.

Cool Ohudac, is the best days because of the weaker players online or just the bigger field sizes and bigger guarantees? Thank you again for the advice. -Andrew
